One of our accounts team sends out weekly email reminders that include 5 different colours, and 6 other style and font changes within the body.

Its a three paragraph email.

has Europe stuck a warship off the coast of Libya to detect and track the people smuggling boats? It might help improve response times. 1200 dead in 2 days in unacceptable. It is staggeringly sad. Get Greece to do it to pay off the debt or something.

I've been doing as little as possible today because frankly screw working so hard you end up dreaming about work at night without getting any kind of recognition for it.

In better news though a recruitment agent connected with me on LinkedIn and I've sent him my CV, so woo.

That first part sounds like something from Game of Thrones that the fire lady would say.

That's both very old and also doesn't excuse the ugliness of that email.

It's true that it's ugly. And it is especially, especially ugly in fluorescent pink.

But there's worse. The font i can't stand above all others is Dakota Handwriting.

If you recognise it you'll start to see it on every lazy menu design, every bit of convenience store POS, billboards, 'hilarious' car stickers...

Drones. They need every crew member on our ship to fly drones to find the bastards.

Battery life could be a problem. Maybe little disposable helium balloons with cameras and GPS would be a better option.

This is the second afternoon in a row I've had to listen to two of my elderly colleagues discussing how the recent company pension cuts will affect their final salary lump sum. Completely oblivious to those around them who were hired long after this ridiculously generous pension scheme was scrapped and boohoo how awful that they'll only be getting hundreds of thousands instead of hundreds of thousands and a bit more.

Well, yes. Regardless of the etiquette, if you took a salary cut you'd be discussing it, right?

I have just entered my first triathlaon

400m swim - 26km bike - 6.25 km run

Ludlow Sprint Triatlon has been running since 1996 and has grown in popularity and we have seen it fully subscribed now for many years. This event is orgnised in partnership between Ludlow Runners, Ludlow Cycling Club and Teme Leisure. Situated at the northern edge of town. Teme Ludlow (South Shropshire Leisure Centre as it is signposted) is just off the A49 and along side Ludlow Secondary School. The swim will take place in the 25-metre pool in the Centre, with Transition situated to the rear of the building. The cycle will be through part of the town, out onto country roads before returning to the centre on the A49. The run will be an out and back course on the footpath alongside the A49 to the north of Ludlow

I was talking about this earlier. I do agree on that, but I guess it is like the boss of Sainsburys bemoaning his 1% pay cut standing in an aisle being tended by a load of 0 hours contract shelf stackers.

Well, less extreme that that, obviously, but I think a bit of tact around that kind of thing doesn't go amiss.

the background is a bit light. Contrast helps, orange on black or black on orange tends to work quite well. Pink could work well on a dark background. Obviously, it depends on the type and severity of partial-sightedness.

Pro tip, if you ever use Co-op ATMs and you're struggling to see the screen, press five on the keypad, then put your card in. Brings up the high contrast orange on black mode.

In that case I think Grim... is being really unthoughtful in not providing you with a fluorescent pink Comic Sans forum so that you can read in total comfort, to which your reading mode should default at every log in.

Trooper and I are watching it in "4X", which means the seats move and it rains on you and stuff.

I fully expect that to be something I only try once.

I've never even tried out those motorised seat things that the cinema in Glasgow has because it looks too stupid and distracting.

That's normally my job in the cinema.
