Nottingham was good fun. We started in the Cross Keys pub, then went to Trip to Jerusalem. After that we went to the canal bridge. Dinner was ok at an "eat all the meat" place. We then went to Boiler house and had weird drinks. Finally we went to a titty bar.

I would recommend the canal pub.

:)

Speakeasy hipster cocktail place. Fit waitresses and hot women there. Good cocktails.

Just read that that horrid character Claude Littner is taking over from Nick Hewer on a The Apprentice, which I know is a crap media circus/reality tv nightmare and about as far removed from the real business world as it's possible to be, but still.

I just loathe "the interview stage" where he's involved, the arrogant, bullying old twat, needs a slap as far as I'm concerned. Now he'll be in every episode and it'll be basically unwatchable for me.

That's the only bit I like, preening arses being brought down a peg or two by an older set of preening arses.

Yeah, my missus says the same thing, but I just cringe. Can you imagine going to an interview like that!

If the worst and most unrealistic bit of The Apprentice for you is the interviews, then you're hating it wrong.

You're not allowed an anonymous political opinion on an obscure message board because of your job? That pretty hardcore.

But then Pundy would need to write his responses to arguments in a public thread in a completely separate private thread which isn't particularly workable I wouldn't have thought. A second id would be probably be more practical. Also: not making your forums id so easily matched to your real identity in the first place, but obviously that ship's already sailed in this case.

I wouldn't worry about that, according to Stewart Lee's pronunciation he's "pudder-buyer."

In an act of both brutal unsentimentality and historical vandalism, I wiped almost 9 years' worth of records from my Gmail account yesterday. I did download a backup beforehand, in case future biographers do need to know which pub we went to on 4 June 2007, but I decided there was little benefit in having that info readily searchable.

Now, if only I can clear stuff from sinister Facebook.

The easy way is to create a new account, then add yourself as a 'friend' to get your friend list, but I don't want to bug people with a 'hey, this is still me - I'm changing my account' request as that always looks a little odd.

Or just go cold turkey and deactivate and do something less boring instead.

I deleted over 80% of my facebook friends list a month ago. Now I'm down to family, one or two cancer people and people with whom I have no other means of communication (broadly, people I still know in the Midlands).

Despite this being a fit of pique thing, I'd been contemplating it for six months as I was spending far to much time in my life refreshing, and refreshing and refreshing my feed mindlessly.

I have to say, I don't regret it.

Yeah, it's the networking aspect that's the big draw. The vast majority of US-based contacts on my list are re-enactors, as it's useful to keep a connection in case I want to get over to another US event and to know what ones are worth doing. I'm already letting myself be talked into a trip to Kentucky in October 2016, for example. And, heck, if people think I'm worth keeping in their address books, then that's fine with me.

Some other circles use it for event faff rather than long streams of emails. It's just too useful. But there's probably no harm in not checking it every day, and not 'liking' every photo that raises a smile.

Can someone please play this in your browser and tell me whether it's awesome:

http://timsoret.itch.io/the-last-night

It's apparently called The Last Night and is being made into a full release. Why's it interesting? Firstly I can't find a trailer on YouTube since the title is so bloody generic. Secondly, it's apparently Bladerunner meets Flashback. Thirdly, I love Flashback. A lot.

Apparently this browser version can be finished in a few minutes but I'm not near a computer. Mind you, if it's shit, tell us it's shit. Ta muchly.

I was reading about this game the other day on RPS or something. Anyway, it's very pretty obviously but there's almost no actual game in this browser version so trying to judge the potential of the final product from it's basically impossible.
