Is it more effective than 'do you come here often? '

LEGO Batman Trilogy is on offer on steam this weekend (60% off), however, it only seems to include LEGO Batman 2 and 3. In fact, the original LEGO Batman doesn't seem to be available on Steam at all! What's going on? Am I being thick? Or is it something about me living in Spain?

Edit: 60% off, not 75. There are some other LEGO games at 75% off, though.

Edit edit: Oh, I just tried searching directly for Steam LEGO Batman in Google, and when I clicked on the search result from Steam's website I got a error message saying it's not available in my region. Still, weird to be offered a trilogy containing only two games...

Not me, but I know a place where they use the word 'homologated.'

"Operators of the Citroen Nemo, Fiat Fiorino, and Peugeot Bipper are being alerted to the fact their vehicles are subject to lower speed limits on dual carriageways and single-lane A-roads.
What Van? is aware of a trio of cases where drivers were stopped by police for doing speeds acceptable for most light vans, but, due to an anomaly in the rules, not these three, which must not exceed 50mph on single-lane roads and 60mph on dual carriageways.
The law states that “car-derived vans up to a 2 tonnes max laden weight” can drive at the same speed as cars, but despite having passenger car versions, the Fiat, Citroen and Peugeot vehicles aren’t classified as car-derived vans because they were homologated for sale first as commercial vehicles. "

So there.

Does this bother me? Not really, although my company van is a Nemo.

I "accidentally" did that touch pay thing today.

I got my card out to pay at McDonalds, fumbled the controller and my card, and as I'm trying to shove my card in the bottom the guy says I've paid. Great stuff. The guy was laughing at me because of the look on my face though.

I still get surprised by how quick pay-by-touch is. Witchcraft. That's what's behind it.

Cheers all, i'm sure we could accommodate a few people if you wanted to come visit, or crash over after the BeexBQ etc... It's not quite stumbling distance to Grim... acres, but I can't imagine a taxi would cost a fortune.

A few interesting things with the house. The bread oven is completely sealed up, I assume there are dead bodies inside or something. Opening it up would be an option to make the kitchen bigger, but we certainly won't have the cash for that to start with!
There is also a safe that comes with the house that is too heavy to move and the current vendors have never opened it as they don't have a key, it was in the house when they bought it 15 years ago. I expect there are gold bars inside, for sure.

We are going to be living like savages though for a while. It doesn't have a dishwasher.

It is a wonderful space, Trooper, and one which I hope with all my hopes that you and Mrs T will spend many happy years in. You are so lovely that you will both bring warmth and live to that space. It sounds like there are many things to discover in that house. I wonder if you'll ever find out what is in the safe? Do you remember someone posting here about a locked safe once, and someone had the same model and managed to find the set spring code for it to get it open? Those gold bars could pay for the kitchen remodelling :D

Wasn't there a load of people on Reddit finding locked safes in houses they'd bought and people helping them get into them? It's possible this only happened once and my memory is making it more of a thing than it ever was.

That's a big old place, Troops. It's going to take ages to add network cables.

Are you going to drive to Bedford station?

I'm hoping that 500mbit ethernet over electric will work, but we shall see!

Drive to Flitwick and get on there, much easier than coming into bedford.

Hmm, if it has two ring mains you're going to have trouble.

Should be OK, i'd expect there to be separate rings for the bakery and the house, but the bakery only has the kitchen and main bedroom, which can both make do with WiFi (might need a booster though), the rest of the house should hopefully be on the same ring.

The bread oven could make a very nice office if you can get into it. I'd be tempted to get an endoscope camera once you are in, and drill a couple of holes for a nose.

The main issue is going to be restricted head height. The part of the rear hall that runs alongside the oven is 5'10" to the ceiling. I'm 5'11"...
Opening up the oven wouldn't be too tricky, but I expect i'd need to excavate down about a foot to make it a workable space, which wouldn't be cheap.

What time should I get there?

Yes, those furniture cutouts are to scale.
Yes, I am a total nerd.

I've done the scale model furniture cutout thing. But even worse, when I moved to this flat, I did a 3d render of the living room with furniture in various places.

Cook and Becker are a company that do prints of a load of officially licensed artwork from various game companies (as well as independent artists doing their own stuff) and there's some really pretty stuff in their selection. From a quick browse through I see:

  • Dragon Age Inquisition
  • Jak and Daxter
  • Street Fighter
  • Mass Effect
  • Uncharted
  • The Last of Us
  • Okami
  • Battlefield 4
  • Bioshock Infinite
  • Journey
  • Mirror's Edge
  • Killzone

I'm genuinely considering some of the Journey stuff to fill my currently fairly empty living room walls.

Had there been a Shadow of the Collosus artwork or two I'd have had to take out a second mortgage, as it stands, it's very pretty but I sharn't be dropping no dollar on it. Er, yo.
