It said on the radio this morning that ~98% of eligible voters were registered which sounds pretty impressive..

Not too difficult to get to 98% if you do stuff like this

How does this registering work.. why would you take the trouble to register and then not vote
(we don't register here, we just get a voting card by mail a few weeks in advance and then o day t self take that to our polling station)

You can register by post, but unless you choose a postal vote (and most people don't for some weird reason) then to vote you actually have to get off your lazy arse and go to your local polling station
Some people just can't be bothered when they realise that on the day...
