September the 9th seems to be the date for the new iPhone 6.
Is anyone planning on getting one?

The only reason I ask is that Mrs T's iPhone 4S is on its last legs and she needs a new iPhone, so if anyone is planning to upgrade from a 5, i'm interested in buying it :D

I will get one as soon as they are available through our mobile supplier. Mine 5s will go back to stock.

As I'm responsible for deploying 500 mobiles, then is vital I understand the new models :DD

I wonder how much (if any) damage the recent leaks will do to Apple?

There must be some people who vaguely understand what's gone on and has come to the conclusion that iPhones aren't safe?

Hard to say, but I don't know of any reason to say yes or no.
But the reputation of a company with a very public breach is typically going to suffer more than the company without one.

'Android' isn't a company.

Well they haven't been hacked by a brute force password attack yet because of a laughably vulnerable API. (Well, not that I'm aware of :D)

Plus you had that bloke from Wired who got decimated because of weaknesses in Amazon/Apple security.

Then you've had the multiple ways to unlock iPhones with various key combinations and suchlike. (That was my party trick in the office a couple of years ago and by fuck it took them some time to patch it.)

I'm not saying Android is perfect but my gut feeling is I trust Google+Android more than I do Apple+iOS. (Plus you can get a Nexus 5 for what, half the price of an iPhone5? And the Nexus 5 is the better phone.)

I was considering getting one for a few moments, but I still think I'll get the S5 because of the expandability of the memory card and cost.

The whatnots with the whatnot I see as an even risk across all things, if someone wants in, they will.

Got mine today, as hardware I like it. Its bigger than the 5 and thinner, but I like the size increase. Its a bit easier to type.

Another guy in the department got the 6 Plus which I think is too big for me at least, I don't do enough on the phone to want a screen that big

Just seen one of these. Plenty big enough, thanks. Can't understand why anyone would want the 6+!

I've got one, the size takes a bit of getting used to, especially when you try to hold it one hand :hat: :hat: :hat: but I like the way you can double touch home and it brings the top down to within reach when using it one handed.
An issue with it is its pretty sloppy and the curved edges mean the screen is the impact point more often than not when dropped. Which explains why my lovely other half has already smashed hers

It's a good job Scotland voted no in the end. If you can't look after a phone what would you do with a whole country?

Scotland has nice rough edges so it's much easier to pick up.
