So after the world cup no football for a few weeks, ad the tour, and sitting in the sun..

Wednersday at a lovely day at the ajax open day, with a free game between lucky ajax and the suriprofs on the youth and training ground "de toekomst" ... in the lucky team ronald de boer, witsche, john bosman.. youth heros and in the suriprof legend team Clarence Seedorf and Edgar Davids (he managed to stay on the field)...

Tomorrow on to the Johan Cruijff Shield (charity/community shield) with my son.. looking forward to club football, just going with my friends to my red and white warries, fier and brave..

Quote:
London's Wembley Stadium will host the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020.

Munich, Baku, St Petersburg and Rome will each host three group-stage matches and a quarter-final.

Copenhagen, Bucharest, Amsterdam, Dublin will each host a last-16 tie and three group-stage games. Now Glasgow and Cardiff sweat over the final-four places.

Cardiff misses out as Glasgow, Bilbao, Budapest and Brussels get the final four last-16 ties and three group games.

Cool! Might try to get tickets. Will soften the blow that there's no World Cup again until 2026.

I like the idea of holding it all over the continent but how did Wembley manage to swing the sweetest cherries? Football coming home?

'Commercial opportunities'

Also, means FIFA/UEFA can happily snub the crap out of us for ages over doing a real one :)

So Liverpool have sacked Rodgers then.

Hardly a surprise - they're piss awful and have squandered millions on average players.

You mean Sir Tim of Sherwood, Lord and Saviour of Aston Villa Football Club?

Not overly concerned with Bournemouth's slow start to the season - it always tends to happen when we move up a division. But we should have won at the weekend, and should have got a point at Stoke.

A visit to the Etihad next. 8)

Heh.

Sherwood has signed a load of creative players and then just picks 10 random ones to start each week alongside Ashley Sodding Westwood. I despair.

He is a splendid flapping vagina of a man. Still the league would be a much more boring place without his special kind of arrogant madness.

Bad times for Chelsea... Arsenal smashed United which I was kind of expecting, given United hadn't really had any tough games yet. Nice to see Spurs get the equaliser yesterday so we're on a nice run.

Ancelotti for Lpool IMO. I thought he was too good to be sacked at Chelsea.

A pal of mine wrote a nice piece on it:

Manages to make me care deeply about Liverpool, when really I couldn't care less.

I always thought English clubs were in general terribly managed, considering how much they pay for shit players, but Liverpool has been the worst in that front for decades. Maybe they should sack everyone at the club instead.

So, Ched Evans is ti have bis conviction reviewed. Presumably, if it overturned, there will be a lit of "That's OK, then" and ge'll be allowed to continue his career as a footballer.

According to Sky, they have interviewed Klopp and he has said that he will be unveiled as manager tomorrow (and by unveiled I assume they will drape a cloth over him and go TADA).

I am slightly giddy at the prospect of Klopp arriving, far more than an adult person with a job and a mortgage has any right to be.

I’ve no idea how it’s going to go but I’m sure it’s going to be an interesting ride.

Those news were from 2001.

I hate acronyms. It took me ages to figure out SMH because I refuse to google stuff and I still don't get AFTK or something like that. Commonly found around RPG game discussion I think.

Anyway, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester, Leicester. The Leicester.
