Alright, so nobody liked my quiz rpg post, how about this...

Does anyone play quizup?

It's free.
It has over 500 topics, and over 300,000 questions.
It has achievements and stats and gamification out the wazoo.

Essentially you choose a subject and then play another person, either syncronously or asyncronously in a competitive 7 question quiz.
The winner is the person that answers the most questions correctly and in the fastest time.

It's moderately addictive...

Do we have to be playing at the same time? I'd be up for this. (time permitting)

Hmmmm, the only IAPs are to increase XP multiplier and the most expensive one is £3.99. Seems legit.

Nope, you can choose at the start of each round to wait and play together or do all your answers first and get the result later.

I can't even find where to buy anything in the game, and extra xp only gets you to new name vanity labels faster, everything is open from the start.

I signed up via Facebook, so no idea how that works, try searching on my real name? You can do a friends of friends search though if you can find myp, Russ, Mrs t, or Mimi.

Mimi and I have both joined. I'm connected through Facebook so you can search my full name. Also, check the history section as you can see people playing each other and click their username.

I'm also on there and have sent a few random challenges out. The TV questions are very American-centric but I like the games ones.

The server doesn't seem 100% reliable unfortunately. The game Russell challenged me on came up as not found when I clicked on it.
Might be my dodgy wifi at the moment, hopefully it will turn up.

Someone just answered "What kind of animal is Donkey Kong?" Incorrectly.

They said "Donkey" :belm:

I use my real name. I'm not very good.

Still, it's fun to pick completely random topics and then challenge people on them.

Let's see how much Bluecup knows about the Mean Girls film!

It's hard picking a subject. I don't want to challenge someone to something I know a lot about because that seems mean. So I pick a subject I know a little about but it turns out I know a bit so I still end up looking mean. Be nice if there was a random subject selection, might just stick with general knowledge.

When I pick someone to quiz against, it automatically picks Batman for everyone instead of giving me a choice of loads. I have to search for something, but I just want to be given options.

You need to challenge people from the topics screen, I. E. Choose your topic first.

I challenged Bobby to "maths:easy".

The outcome resulted in a message saying "let us never speak of this".

That isn't not speaking of it!

Curio, that Pro-Wrestling round, did it come up as a win or a loss for me?

I won:

I lost it the first time, but then it bugged out and gave me the same round again, so I won. I was hoping that would be the one you got!

I am in and I am Warren Head...... No I'm not, I'm Warhead. Those of you in my Google+ Beteo circle can challenge me. Currently waiting for The Bushy Tailed One to accept my logo challenge.

[edit] .. :belm: ......and searching all users for Warhead will find me as well, of course.

It could do with a bit more explanation about matches within the game, instead of having to find out from Wikipedia .... Unless I've missed that.

Little bit late to the party on this one, but yay fun!

However. Some of the connections between the questions and the topics are... Tenuous!!
