This girl blew 24 men in a drinking competition to win a £3 bottle of Cava

I've seen the video and she had each one in her mouth for a couple of seconds

Glad I have a son!

This sounds like too much thought. Probably more along the lines of "This'll be proper bants mate. WHEY".

It is shorthand for banter, although not the quick parry and riposts of witty commentary amongst friends it once was. It seems to have been picked up as a word by footballers sued to excuse threatening people bodily harm on twitter, and then devolved further to any form of high jinks. It's used as a word by the sort of people that wear Paul's Boutique clothing.

Agreed up to a point, but it's not exactly flying the flag though, is it? Brits abroad have an appalling reputation (deservedly so, thanks to antics like this); personally I'm sick of being tarred with the same brush. To me, whichever way you cut it, this is cheap, lewd and disgusting behavior by all concerned.

I realise you can't really say stuff like this these days, but I mean come on: if this is true, the lass involved has behaved like a cheap, dirty slapper? Giving two dozen blokes a BJ, in public, whilst being filmed... yeah, right, niiiiice. :spew: Decorum, much?

I'm just curious, Doc.

This woman blew 24 random strangers in public, in a foreign country, whilst being filmed (for a £3 bottle of Cava, as it goes). I note this has already started a shitstorm with the Spanish, including the town mayor apparently, who I understand is calling for an investigation?

On the one hand, you say if she was "exploited", that would be "scummy", which seems to imply that you disapprove of what's happened, yet, apparently, if she did this of her own "unimpaired" free will (albeit I think it's fair to assume she was pissed to some extent or other), that doesn't make her a "bad person"...?

I mean, seriously, at what point - if any - do you consider where the line is, (supposed) common standards of decency and all that? If blowing 24 men in public, in Spain, whilst being filmed is somehow okay, how about full, penetrative sex with 24 men in a public bar? Or the street? Is there any point at which you would say 'you know what, that's just out of order/disgusting'? Or is any bar or other public place, including in someone else's country, fair game for use as a de facto dogging site, and tough shit if you don't like it, sure she's a lovely lass really?

By the same token, can anyone - ever - be said to be behaving like a 'slut', according to your definition of the term, or is this simply an unobtainable 'inverse gold standard' in your view; never to be coined/used no matter what depths are plumbed (if you'll pardon the pun)?

I'm seriously interested. To my mind, this is just surreal.

Sure. If she was, say, very very drunk, pressured into it, or drugged, then you have something that's most of or all the way to rape.

Quote:

I don't have a line, because I don't put myself in moral judgement of what happens between consenting adults. It's simply none of my business what people get up to. I don't think it was advisable, and I daresay the person in question regrets it now -- but I refuse to judge her character based on it.

Ah, you're conflating things badly here.

I, too, do not give a fig what consenting adults do. But FFS, don't do it IN A PUBLIC PLACE that's entirely inappropriate for this "use", is in full view to the general public in a foreign Country (and, in fact, the entire world, thanks to it being filmed). There's a very, very big difference, right there.

I went through there on a bus once. I still showered afterward. I was impressed I was met at the airport by a bus, and the bus took me to where I was staying. It rained for a few days and there was the petrol haulier's strike. We had our photo taken for the firm's holiday brochure. There was a vending machine that sold beer. I spent quite an enjoyable two weeks getting giggly drunk in the sun with my girlfriend (who insisted on wearing full northern make up to the beach each day, and then put suncream on over it or something, I dunno) and then getting more quietly drunk in the evening. It was something like £200 quid for 2 weeks half board including flghts and stuff. Afterwards, she got the bus down from Yorkshire to Cornwall to visit me. Took 13 hours. Ah, the folly of youth. Anyway, yeah.

Nope, sorry mate, not having that at all. Here's my very first post, note the italics:

So, as I've made clear from the start, I condemn them all.

That said, I'm happy to concede that, in my honest opinion, the woman in this case - as the "facilitator" - is more culpable IMO. If 8 of those 24 blokes declined on common decency grounds, would it have made it any less shocking/offensive in real terms? Note this is not a sexist point. If it was one guy and 24 women, I'd be blaming the guy more (and I've had plenty to say in the past about predominantly male football supporters). So I am not sexist, sorry.

As I have explained, as a Brit who is often abroad (business and pleasure), I tire of our collective (IMO deserved) reputation as a nation of thugs, slappers and drunks, with absolutely no class or decorum; we're peasants, basically, the great unwashed; ignorant and uneducated egg-and-chips quaffing morons who don't know the first thing about how to conduct ourselves as guests in someone else's country. This pains me greatly; perhaps it's my age.

This is a huge factor, imo. Some people, for whatever reason, degenerate into apes when on 'a lads/girls holiday'. It's almost like a mob mentality; they spur each other on doing stupider and stupider things. No doubt when a lot of them go home, they're back to their respectable jobs, wives/husbands, kids... There is a reason for the saying "what goes on tour, stays on tour".

My friends have been on a few 18-30s holidays; the stories are unbelievable. The barman putting a dildo on the bar, covering it with cream and getting them to suck it off for free drinks is one of the more tame tales they came back with. Yes, it's disgusting and it's in public but when encourage by the staff, promotional people, club reps, there seems to be few limits as to what goes on.

People have always, and will always do stupid things.
