But Dave doesn't enjoy those modes so bleh.

Raids and strikes might just be too hard for newbs at the mo. Might be worth us getting Sat levelled up as much as he can then we all tackle something hard later.

Strikes are 3 player only anyway. Beyond raids (which are hard), there's only competitive stuff. Which I did not gel with last time. I'd give it another go, but probably still dislike. (or not play and cry as myps level deviates more from mine)

So how does coop work in this, then? If you get some people on your fireteam, and you play a story mission, will that then progress the story for all players, or only the fireteam leader? And if not, won't the other players end up overranked for their own story missions?

It progresses the "story" for all players, yes. But be careful you go to the Tower to complete quests and whatnot or you have to do them again. Dave and I found this out to our chagrin.

If you have already unlocked the quest, yes, it'll count towards your progress. If the host has taken you to something that is not next in any of your quest chains, chain naturally won't progress, even if you later get to that point.

So I've been playing this a bit and I am currently a level 5 Titan. It could be fun to get something going with 3 people (or more), with at least one of each class. If someone would be interested in playing the game from the beginning, I wouldn't mind creating a new character of a different class, if that would help.

I have now purchased this as the Taken King edition was twenty something quid in the supermarket. I have leveled my Hunter to level 16 over the course of the last few days.

I have to say I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played so far, the shooting is pleasing (which I found surprising as I’ve never enjoyed Halo) and it is very, very pretty. It’s not something I can see myself playing in six months but I should get a month or so of entertainment from it.
