I have just been unfortunate enough to witness someone bad mouthing me quietly to a group of people due to a piece of work that i didn't complete.

In actual fact, the work was handed over to another team due to resources so it was completely unfounded. but I did overhear someone say 'to be honest, I think that the work wan't suited tot he 'kind' of person who it was given to as I don't get the feel that Mimi is very organised'.

I am feeling quite proud of myself, as i went over once peole had dispersed, asked for a quiet word, and without a fuss went to an offiec and told this person that i could hear the conversation, that obviously there had been some miscommunication, that I didn't appreciate the misplaced talk about my work ethic and skills and that if there was an issue i think I am like the majority of people in prefer being spoken to than about. I was perfectly pleasant and I think she crawled up her own bum a bit, but I'm glad I did that, even though i am shaking now i am back at my desk.
