Mate who lives in Blackheath had his chimney hit by lightning on Saturday. Melted his fireplace and fried everything electrical in the front room.

Hush Brasserie on Holborn has a sign out front "Best burger in London"

That's a claim worth investigating.

My late grandad's sister (does that make her my great aunt or something?) met a US army guy in the 50s when he was stationed over here and she went back with him to the US. They got married and had three kids.

Why am I telling you this? I have just received possibly the best facebook post I have ever received, after one of her kids (my uncle something removed, I guess) added me today.
Quite simply insane genius, I've only ever met him once when I was about 12...

Enjoyed 'Avenue Q' the second time round. I find the final song, 'For Now', to be strangely life-affirming.

I lasted a whole two days. But I have learnt that I don't need to check it constantly and that with a little tweaking I can get more out of it. Progress, in a way.

Also, as I don't smoke I've always craven the whole 'go on mate, you can do it' camaraderie that greets every well-intentioned but ultimately futile attempt to kick the habit.

It's 8 years since it was 14 years since I jumped in the air [1] and despite the alzheimers starting to kick in, I can still remember it quite clearly.

[1] Jumping may not have actually happened.

In 1 year it will be 8 years since it was 14 years since I jumped in the air, I remember being disappointed with my A in maths (despite A being the best result I could get)

As well as getting the Grade, we had the individual mark for each paper. I did 4 papers. Pure 1 and 2 and Mechanics 1 and 2. I think I got 12/12 in Pure 1 and 11/12 in Pure 2 and Mechanics 2, and then 8/12 in Mechanics 1. I got 42/48, the minimum mark for an A (I think the previous year it had been 44 for an A). The only thing I can think of for doing so badly in M1 was that I just didn't answer a section or something. I think the most galling thing is that Mechanics was by far my favourite part of Maths. And I obviously knew what I was doing as I got 11/12 in the M2 paper.

Thinking back now it's still annoying.

I got a C in Computing, which clearly accounts for the extreme relative success I enjoy now.

Actually the course was just horribly, horribly taught. Things the tutor pointedly said were not going to be on the exam turned out to be on the exam.

I got a C in Computing, which clearly accounts for the extreme relative success I enjoy now.

Actually the course was just horribly, horribly taught. Things the tutor pointedly said were not going to be on the exam turned out to be on the exam.

I spent 2 years learning about ancient mainframes and DBase3. In 1998! The tutor was the world's most boring man. He was obviously severely depressed but continued to plod on anyway. Used to regale us with tales of his mate who killed himself. Awkward.
