Thinking about Philae, they are saying that it's getting 1.5 hours of sunshine instead of the the 7.5 hours they wanted, could they not, just do things every 6 days (ie let it charge for 5 days, and then do stuff on the 6th, then let it charge for 5 more days and something on the 12th etc) instead of every day?

Or is it not that simple?

I would imagine that speaking to it takes power and it needs to maintain some sort of state to keep everything running and talking back.

I know, it's great isn't it?

The works do was terrible. I'm glad that's over and it's a lesson learnt to say I'm busy the next time I'm asked out.

I believe Android Studio, which is the new thing based on IntelliJ, is pretty good now. It's what I was supposed to use for the mandatory "how to make Android apps" training I've been ignoring for weeks.

Visual studio 2015 will do android, and they just released a Community edition of 2013 which is Pro-but-free unlike the Express ones.

So next year that'll be an option.

I saw Kerbdog last night in Manchester and they were *really* fucking good. Then I went to South's where Clint Boon was playing belting tracks from off of the nineties.

Then I woke up with a big cut on my knee. No idea how I got it but it fucking kills.

So overall, yeah, great night.

Sykes is fucking hardcore.

Some footballer is shitting his pants and she's shoving crocodiles out of the way of the letters they needed to collect.

Also Michael Buerk and Tinchy Strider are unlikely bros.

I want to play the new Gauntlet game so last night, I tried to get an "evaluation copy" from the usual sources. After 3 different attempts and 3 different versions, I gave up. None of them worked.

Honestly... What is the industry coming too? I may have to actually pay for it!

I've only really played the first set of levels* on single player, which are naturally quite easy compared to what has come since, to give each character a try.

I enjoyed that, but not as much as coop with Perkies and Dimrill. Which is to be expected. I also fear it may get a bit too tricky later on in single player as each character has strengths and weaknesses, and trying to solo wizard, for instance, could be rather difficult as you tend to want a wall of warrior in between you and the enemies. Meanwhile Mr Warrior has certain enemies that he would really appreciate Mr Elf or Mr Wizard taking out from range. Not that it'd be impossible, but clearly made with coop in mind. (Same as Magicka, if you've ever played that)

You'd also miss out on things such as bastard crown wars and other such competitive parts of the coop experience.

I got a 4 pack for me, Dimrill and Perkies. Don't regret it in the slightest. Playing through a second time as different characters, as each plays quite differently.

Potentially have a fourth going spare, and would be amenable to coop if you have some kind of voice comms (We use a teamspeak server that I rent)

* - There are three worlds, each divided into 4 (Or maybe three, I can't remember) sets of three and a final boss.

Until the daily mail got hold of the word trolling, we had a perfectly acceptable phrase for it. It was 'Being a Cunt'.

Had my first water bill at the new house yesterday.

This doesn't look right to me. I took the meter reading last night, so I know that's correct - but according to this, they're charging me for supplying the water and then charging me again for using the water they've supplied.

That doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Non-metered water has this; the standing charge covers the cost of purifying the water that came into your house, and the sewerage charge covers the cost of processing the waste water that you sent out.

I've been watching Breaking Bad over the last few weeks. (I know, late to the party but still). It's brilliant isn't it? I know there's a thread for it so I can't wait to see what everyone else has thinks about it.
