Terms and conditions in the UK are weird anyway. As I understand it as a UK citizen you have a certain set of rights that you cannot sign away, so whatever is written in the terms and conditions is immaterial.
You have a lot more protection here, so it's no wonder that people can't be arsed to read them, as they will never be that bad... :D

Other countries differ, obviously. You can sign away a lot more shit in the US, for example, and terms and conditions actually mean something.

Happy Grim... day, birthday!

I feel unwell today. There's been a cold going around at work and I seem to have picked it up. Just in time for the weekend. I wouldn't mind so much because I would welcome the excuse to stay in bed all weekend as I've had an extremely busy couple of months but we'd made plans to stay out in a hotel tomorrow night, getting drunk, going to the casino and going out for dinner. I've been looking forward to it all week. So, lots of drugs and an early night, tonight.

I other, more positive news, we got our drawings through and will be submitting our planning application for the work to the new house at the start of next week so fingers crossed that'll be okay.

At the moment, there are no rooms upstairs or stairs leading to the loft, and the kitchen shown on the plan is currently the kitchen/dining room so we're making ourselves a nice sized entertaining space.

The first floor isn't going to be quite like that; we'll put the bathroom central at the top of the stairs, and have the hall wider so we have two lots of storage either side of the stairs, instead of just the one side. The upstairs rooms are plenty big enough to allow it, with each one being something like 4.5 x 3.5m. The layout of the en-suite and kitchen itself isn't going to be quite like shown, either. I haven't actually started measuring and pricing everything yet. Well, except the wallpaper for our bedroom, the kitchen, and the wardrobes for the dressing room. So, you know, the important things! :D

Thankfully, we can do an awful lot of the work ourselves and employ people on a labour only basis for things like blockwork and plastering. Our biggest immediate cost will be the central heating system and we'll get a man in for that, along with the electrics.

Nice :) What sort of square footage are you going from and to? I expect doing the work yourself will save a few pennies, but I don't envy you ;)

No idea, the existing rooms are all a decent size, and all the new bedrooms will be at least as big so I've not really thought about it.

Yeah, it's going to be a bit of an exhausting few months but we work in construction so we're confident we at least have the ability to do it. Our bodies might let us down, though!

Leeds station at 7 pm on a Friday night as the trains deliver up from the bowels of Yorkshire fine boluses of young women dressed up to the nines is superb.

Sadly, I'd rather be in London with Grim...'s friends.
