Okay - a new game from Nintendo that looks as if they wanted to try and make the weirdest game possible

Expect the Unexpected in Tomodachi Life

What happens when friends, family, and celebrities become Mii™ characters and live together on an island? Tomodachi Life happens!

Start by creating Mii characters and customizing everything about them. Have fun recreating your best friend, your favorite actor, mom and dad, co-workers...whoever! Then watch as they rap, rock, eat donuts, fall in love, break up, go shopping, play games, and live their crazy Mii lives.

I know nothing about this game apart from people tweeting the name but already, I want it.

This is just a rip-off of SimBeex, isn't it?

This sounds like the type of game I'd love to play if I was a teenage Japanese girl living in Tokyo. But as an aging git from Leicester, I doubt I could get excited about it.

You have to reads that the same way I am saying it in my head. It is a majestic, almost operatic song.

"What is Tomodachi life?"

It's 'Friend Life' as translated by an extremely lazy translator.

Tomodachi is going to be far easy to trademark in the western world though. (See also: why Pokémon is Pokémon outside Japan rather than its original name Pocket Monsters.)

I know, it just registers very high on the bland-o-meter.

OK, so did anyone actually get this?

Well, I did, and it is.

AMAZING

Anyone who disagrees is a wrongun. So, I only have a few people on my island at the moment (myself, Russell and each of our grandparents) but the game is bonkers crazy and full of love. I'm going to put some beexers on there if I can sneakily work out who has a birthday when, but I have put a few pictures up. I've been playing for hours, I love it. It's really difficult to put down. I even bought a stetson thinking that i will make a Craster Mii soon.

Anyhoo, I have put little captions on the pics so you can see what is going on.

My Nan and Grandad have fallen in love. My granddad keeps telling me that he loves me (you can tell the game what relationship people are to you in real life, I guess so it doesn't suggest inappropriate love matches.) My grandparent miis keep doing lovely, sweet things, and I have had to keep a tear from my eye.

Also, my mii was given a WiiU! It is like real life. I will be playing Mariokart in a short while, just need to get it set up. So much unpacking to do, eek!
