The really terrible thing is now I have heard the saying (I think may have heard it once before) I have it going around my head to the tune of "Girlfriend in a coma".

I actually feel bad each time it pops back into my head. To not even have any idea how out of order it is to say it *out loud* after people have been sacked (big Ron) or significantly berated (Bill Maher) for such things just shows how out of touch these dicks are.

You're right. It was at a public event. Which makes it... better?

Just watched the short clip of Boris bumbling along as usual and saying we should tell the EU to 'go whistle' regarding their 'extortionate' brexit bill. Watching him talk is painful; surely the lovable buffoon act has to wear thin with others eventually.

I'm trying to decide if I'm more annoyed that the BBC are reporting on the Canadian Governor-General touching the Queen, or more annoyed at myself for getting annoyed by the coverage of it.

Everyone says "unelected" like it's a bad thing. With the UK's current track record we'd elect Katie Hopkins.

She's gone proper off the deep end, and is (so I hear) currently on a boat with neo-nazis and holocaust deniers, trying to stop the rescue boats from saving the lives of drowning refugees.

Just finished Brendan Cox's memoir on his late wife, 'More in Common'.

Reading about Jo Cox's life and beliefs I'm reminded that politics and politicians do matter and can be a force for good. Just painful how we've had to learn this, and there are no words to adequately describe what Mr Cox and his family have suffered and what they and the country have lost.

I'm actually quite tearful right now, again. Recommended as necessary reading.

Liam Fox demands meeting with BBC over 'negative' Brexit stories

Oh, go and write to 'Feedback' like everyone else. What we really don't want is Donald Trump-style bleatings of 'fake news' every time some says something you don't like. Besides, if Brexit's a good thing, you should be able to argue for it yourself.

Very much that last sentence. Also what about all the anti-EU stories that have been made up coming from the likes of him, BoJo, Gove, The Express, The Mail etc etc?

We've had decades of utterly made up shit from an entire arm of our media but the BBC come out with some analysis and facts that report the truth about Brexit and idiots like Fox have yet another pop at the BBC.

Yeah, the Leave guy on R4 tbis morning was banging the Project Fear drum after the IMF lady said that negotiating 60 treaties in a short time ain't gonna happen and 80% of UK economy is in service industries which is not covered by WTO rules. And on WTO rules: WTO tariff is 32% on wine, 10% on cars and 40% on lamb., i think.

Tariff's won't matter. Produce slowly rotting in lorries queueing on the M20 because there's no reciprocal food standards inspection agreement in place will be the nightmare scenario.

Since the Booze and Dople rehab day centre opened a mile and a bit down the road, there's been a marked increase in the number of beggars in The Village. Most just sort of sit by the cash point at CoOp, and do chalk drawings on the pavement. However, used nredkes are now beimg found dumped in accessible places and there's more aggressive panhandling going on. As I'm not a monster, I've often given change but it is reaching silly levels now. I might start asking Philip Davies what can be done, and the counciller, and try to move the rehab place back to Bradford. It's a tricky one.

There's loads of disused mills in Bradford. They could use them. They have secure gates and walls. Go in, stay a few weeks, come out clean.
