The curved screen makes a huge difference I think. Just a shame it is so bulky.

It's still stupid. Imagine trying to type on that keyboard, there's a reason why the general trend since smartphones came along has been for bigger screens. I guess this might be pretty useful for naturists or perhaps for people with a pathological aversion to pockets.

I'm normally (never) a fan of Samsung products, but I actually really like the look of that watch.

@markg it's an android, you don't type, you swipe. (I actually often find myself trying to swipe instead of type when I'm on my iPad.) :P

Didn't everyone say the iPad was silly.

Interesting. It appears that Tizen is based on Linux (so no Android nonsense), and I wouldn't even need an Android phone to run it.

I still use YouTube as there's no real good alternative, although without being signed in and via a VPN. I just don't want a phone or watch that runs a Google OS.

Are there any other SmartWatches coming out that - like the Gear S - you can put a SIM into and actually use it as a phone?

Yes, and some of them are quite nice:
http://burgsmartwatch.com/watchphones
Some of them are cheap (50£):
http://www.spicesmartphones.com/smart-pulse-m-9010
And some of them have an appealing website:

Mine too, but you can't buy it from Amazon still, which doesn't bode well.

I'll try Motorola at midday I imagine, and see what happens.

Makes sense if they got an allocation and sold it off, though.

Me either, that was a link from reddit.

The page it takes you to is:
http://www.motorola.co.uk/Moto-360/moto-360-gb.html

So I doubt it is allocated out, it's just an early warning.

Finally got my refund on my Fitbit Force from all the time ago. The cheque (or to be more accurate, check) got lost in the post. Any guesses as to how much $140 will work out in pounds when I actually pay it in at the bank.

Fitbit have released details of three new health trackers, which look interesting.
http://www.today.com/health/fitbit-laun ... 1D80240005

The Surge looks impressive for the price.

I have ordered one from John Lewis! and cancelled all the other orders! All eggs in one basket, me.
Getting it delivered on Friday, as picking it up tomorrow afternoon could have been a little comical, due to my root canal in the morning...

Main reason was due to the John Lewis return policy and the reports of dead pixels on delivery on a lot of watches. At least this way I have a local shop I can take it to, if it needs to go back.

:D

Motorola say that it could be with me by Friday, but at the latest Tuesday next week. They can't do anything now it is in transit, apart from when it arrives they will send me a freepost jiffy bag to send it back in.
Little bit annoying to be told that it was cancelled this morning on the phone though, as then I went and ordered from John Lewis :)

I've now cancelled the John Lewis one and will keep the Motorola one...

I did, but it's not the end of the world. The motorola returns process seems pretty good after talking to them on the phone.
