Chinny can't be held responsible for his actions if someone mentions Amstrad. And if you talk about buying an Amstrad, well...

I've never spent money on a PSU, I've always used the ones in the case. (Collective gasp.) Can't say I've had anything go wrong with it from there. (Distant explosion. Hasty exit.)

My motherboard on the other hand was a super cheap-out. It works though, but I'm not going to be upgrading it.

If you don't know what you're going to be doing with the computer, don't buy one!

Those gifs need to be BURNT. *rings mod bell*

I never had a problem with my PSUs until Crysis - when I went into the water it would reboot, turned out it was a lack of power (and not the GFX cards overheating, I spent ages faffing about with fans).

Hang on, going into the water during a game made your computer reboot? Presumably the water was graphically demanding - does that mean it was drawing more power than the psu could provide? Weird.

I've had PSUs die on me and my PC had reasonably frequent BSODs that stopped instantly when I replaced the cheapo AOpen board with a gorgeous (and still under 3 figures) ASUS.

If you want zippity speed, use the 'two disks act like one' (striping). If you want to safeguard your data, use 'both the same' (mirroring).
I'd go for striping + a backup solution of some kind.
If you had a huge budget, you'd get four drives and have both.

Do you prefer a stripe of mirrors or a mirror of stripes?

A stripe of mirrors would be funny, though. ;)
