Not true really Dr. G. just on the odd occasion when people have asked "what map / game mode" as I like playing Hardcore on the Overgrown (Grannies) map. Its designed for snipers, plus the ghillie suit is cool. completely different to CS. Also, I wouldnt hide in one spot, as there are too many good ones on Overgrown.

Also, the sniper rifle I choose to use is the lowest in the class, equivalent to the scout really, with no upgrades.

That being said, I have many many more kills in COD4 with the M4 (red tiger finally acheived).
Regardless I dont need to defend myself against people over a game, especially someone who I doubt has even played it.

As for CS, shotgun or Mac10 all the way when they are "working" otherwise M4.

If it's still running slow, try going to the launch options of CS:S and adding -dxlevel 81 in the box. If that fails try -dxlevel 70. If THAT fails, kill yourself.

Where are the launch options?

It think he means to put them after the shortcut, so right-click on the properties of the shortcut and put -dxlevel81 (or whatever) after the "C:/games/counter strike/cs.exe" bit.
If you use steam to fire the game up, right click on the game in your 'my games' list and you can add launch options in a box there, too.

Right click the game in Steam, choose Properties. There's a box there marked "Set Launch Options". Click it, and type your options in there.

Remember to only use one or t'other. It downgrades the version of DirectX it'll try and use. On all DX9 or 10 cards you should see a massive frame rate upgrade at the expense of a few graphical flipperies. It's actually quite hard to tell the difference though, without them sat side by side.

Wednesdays is Forza.
Thursdays is poker.
Fridays people go out.

I'll play when I get my arm back. Even Craster can beat a cripple.

Both of these are more or less stopped now, I think. I'd find it easier to make a fixed night (although I don't have CS:S right now -- but I'm open to buying it).

Sorry for the no-show last night - every time Steam starts to download anything, no other computer in the house can access the internet so trying to install CS last night nearly got me lynched by assorted family members. I'll get it sorted in the next couple of days.

I've come to the conclusion that this seems 'quite' fun, but doesn't appear to be anywhere near as entertaining as the Battlefield games.

With only 2 people a side, there's not much room for tactics. It gets better with bigger teams

I have Cs:source, I think,and also an older version lying around somewhere from when I originally bought HL blueshift, but I have never played it. Is it the one with the terrorists and the storm the building thingy, or is that something else? I would be up for this though.
