Fantastic! Truly the king of chocolate bars has returned!

Less fantastic - I managed to bloat to particularly gargantuan proportions during the seven-week trial the article mentions last year. Looks like I'll have to either invest in gym membership or simply accept my soon-to-be-morbidly-obese figure.

In what way are they better than Aeros though?

They're nice and thick whereas Aeros always seemed a bit flimsy.

Probably the closest thing you can get to the legendary Mirage bar...

In terms of the air holes, Aeros are larger and much less smooth. Aeros also don't melt in your mouth like proper chocolate, which is just fucking weird. Wispa are of course the proper thing, but with smaller air holes making it very moist and generally ace.

Wispa, the attention-seeker of the chocolate world.

"Guys, I'm leaving forever! Yes, I mean it this time! You won't be able to buy me ever again, make sure you stock up! Seriously guys, no more! I'm not coming back, no sirree!"

Which would've been the trial run that they did recently. Prior to that, they'd been gone for years.

Personally, I'd also like to see them bring back Fuse bars.

As for the whole Aero/Wispa thing: it's simple. Aeros are disgusting and foul, whereas Wispas are the ambrosia of the Gods, condensed into convenient bar form.

IIRC, Wispa "came back" about 18 months ago. Then were going to be withdrawn due to low sales. I'd put money on the fact that when they had the big tub of them at CW, it was part of a "get them while you can!" type promotion.

Wispas are ick - the chocolate has no taste. I like Aeros - I don't know if you have a particularly cold mouth, but the chocolate melts in my mouth just perfect - bubbly bubbly chocolatey mmmmmmmm.

Heh, I'd heard about Wispa coming back through teh most uncoventional means.

A chap on an early early morning radio show texted in to request a song, and the DJ read oout his name with something along the lines of "Greg there, making Wispas in a factory"

Wispa Gold was an abomination, too.
Ugh. Hell bars, the lot of them.

On the other hand, Aero's are nice. But I never buy them.

Fuse's should be brought back, too.

Recently I have enjoyee Double Deckers too from the conveniently located vending machine in my new offices. They have cheese and chive seabrooks too, surely the god of all crisps.

Wispas are nice when chilled, I found last time they "came back". Not too nice at room temperature, but left in the fridge for short while... Lovely, but not fantastic.

Wispa Gold had the worst "caramel" filling known to man, and must be scorned.

Incidentally, McDonalds currently offer a limited edition Wispa McFlurry.

My favourite SWEET OF CHAMPIONS is still the trial run Nestle did of a bag of raisins, each raisin covered in milkybar white chocolate. Oh, yes. Only ever saw them in Spar, and only for about 3 weeks. Then never again.

Yo can buy giant bread pretzels at most bread stalls. or most bread stalls I pass, anyway. There are two stalls in Brent Cross that sell them, for example.

Have any of you tried dunking a Wispa into hot coffee briefly? It's like the chocolate version of deep fried brie - the outside stays intact and the inner melts - it is the awesomeness.

As a side note, I hate you all as I now have CHOCOLATE craving and it has just started pissing down outside so I can't go to the corner shop!

About the consolidation of Cadbury's products under the Dairy Milk 'brand'. Where the fuck has the delicious biscuit ones in the light blue packaging gone? I need to start a campaign to bring those back - a much more worthy cause than that for the world's most generic chocolate bar, the Wispa.*

* Wispa Gold, however, was the best thing ever ever ever.

Wispa is the worst chocolate bar made by Cadburys. Wispa Gold was average. The caramel bit really saved an otherwise completely rubbish bar.

2/10.

If "by far" you mean "very very good, but not as good as Double Deckers or Boosts". Anyway, in chocolate bar related news I typed 64 into the chocolate-machine when I meant to type 63 (the fucking numbers under the bars were to close together :/) and I got a baby-killing, crap-tasting Aero rather than a equally baby-killing Kit-Kat Chunker.

pps: We once played top-trumps with chocolate bars and I'm sure Aero came out on top for energy/100g. It's a pity you only get 5gs of chocolate per bar (but you get 56.7gs of air for FREE!)

Yorkie's are a great bar to bring to a chocolate-bar-top-trumps-battle, by the way. Lots of big numbers. I think the purple (biscuit & raisin) variety might be even better.
