This is a perfect example of how anonymous isn't a group in any traditional sense.

1 of them hacked a VP candidates email account.
1 of them immedietly relocked it and sent a warning off
Then more of them rehacked it because the 'white knight' posted the password by accident
Then when it got locked they went after identifying the original hacker so he can get fucked.

Pretty (republican) woman, doesn't let him spout bullshit. Which is nice.

I love the fact that Oreliy like most republicans was pro the warrentless wiretapping bill (nothing to fear and all that) and now is realising that warrentless snooping perhaps isn't ok.

O'reilly: The people owning the websites are dealing in stolen merchandise and should be prosecuted!

Woman: Actually the law says they aren't, it's quite clear.

O'reilly: That's wrong

Woman: No it isn't

O'reilly: yes it is

Woman: No it isn't

O'reilly: yes it is

Woman: it really isn't

O'reilly: well it should be

Woman: (placating) I agree

That Bill O'Reily guy in the clip seems like a total moron. Is he always that obnoxious?

Usually worse, meems. He's a horrific gay/women/lefties/liberals/civil rights/black people-hater. He would be most at home in The South before the Civil War. That kind of guy.

I think he's genuinely a bit of a bigoted loon at heart but has realised that he can make a good living out of playing up to it.

Bizarrely, though, he's a big supporter of the right of gay people to adopt, and has got shirty with some of the more extreme reilgious nutcases over the issue.

If you want a set of images that you cannot scrub out of your mind all day, why not google 'o'reilly falafel'. Enjoy!

Colour me massively surprised and shocked. Maybe I'm just a big old cynic, or maybe my view of him is coloured by how much of a disgusting hate-mongering bigot he is, but he *must* have some sort of unpleasant agenda behind taking that stance, surely?

Presumably he's against gay marriage? Or is he for that too?

I'm getting confused.

Oh, he's against gay marriage, but is fine with the idea of civil unions. The rest of Fox covers his gap on that issue, though. Have a look at Fox and Friends at lunchtime during the week - it's a surefire way to get very depressed about America and start thinking about napalm...

I don't understand why that hasn't lead to her being fired.

If an MP here was found to have used his influence to try and get someone who was in a custody battle with their relative fired they would have 'retired' by the end of the week.

You really think so?

The amount of patronage and abuse of power that there is in government is well documented in the Eye every fortnight, and there's very, very rarely a firing or retirement because of it. Look at John Bourne and the NAO, ffs.

If it was this public yeah, I hope so.

She talked to the head of police to try to get a guy fired so that her relative would get custody of their kids. Then when the head refused, she fired him instead.

If that happened in the uk and made its way to newsnight. She wouldn't be employed now.

At least I hope.

Man I've got to stop reading reddit.

In the space of a week not only has 4chan managed to play around in a VP candidates email account they've also managed to troll Oprah.

The "do not forgive, do not forget" meme is the anonymous battle cry, that they say all the time, mostly during scientology protests.

The over 9000 meme is from dragonball z. And is an ancient running joke.

They disgust me, but yet I kinda have to admire them.

It's brasseye all over again, except all they had to do was post nonce-sense post on oprah's forum and oprah (the most powerful woman in america) took it wholesale. Fucking hell.

I watched the whole stream of those ten videos. I have rarely felt so depressed by what I have seen. What a rude, horrible, ignorant man. The whole station - the clip about global warming and the one about Barak Obama's religious beliefs? So unelieveable.

I had, as I said, heard of Fox News before. I knew that it was utter rubbish, but I thought rubbish in the form of The Sun, or the Daily Star - nonsense news staores about cats on skateboards and such - I didn't know it was the cynical, abysmal sham of a news center that it is.

Surely Americans know that it is nonsense, though? Can you actually receive Fox News in the UK at all (on Sky or the like? Sorry, I have no clue, I have only just started to recieve ITV and Channel 4 again...)

I can imagine that some people watch it for the shock value, but does anyone actually regard it as a serious news broadcast, do you think?

Good on those people that got the petition together about the issue of homeless ex-servicemen. And well done on finding an anti-black black man. Things like that make my heart cry :droool:

Also, who knew that all black people were scared of water?

Ah, bless Oprah. I think some people just don't understand how the internet works.

Also, where do those boobs end?!*

I had only heard of anonymous in regards to the Scientology protests before now, but that Oprah thing seems more of a childish prank than anything else.

Guess again. Fox has the power to turn elections. Not that it would ever to that, of course, by, say, announcing results in one part of the country before the official count had been done, while another part of the country is still at the polls. Because that would be wrong.

It's probably fair to say that The Sun has previously held a similar amount of power over in the UK, and is likely to have a notable impact over the course of the next General Election. Without The Sun's "If Kinnock Wins The Election Will The Last Person Out Of Britain Please Turn Out The Lights" headline, it's more than possible Labour would have won the 1992 election, and British history could have been quite different as a result. Kinnock would have become PM, John Smith wouldn't have taken over the Labour leadership, meaning his subsequent death wouldn't have led the way for Tony Blair to take the reins in time for the '97 Election. The avowedly left-wing Labour administration would have steered clear of fuelling the Dubya-led charge on Iraq, meaning the US Government would be better prepared to halt the current economic crisis way back in the "trickle-down economics is super fun" stage. And yet, as editor of The Sun in 1992, Kelvin MacKenzie is now regarded as being a complete and utter scumbag and all-round cuntrag, and that's The Truth. Funny the things, eh?

(Not really fuelling a huge debate here, just venting. Go about your business, y'all.)
