One of the copies I ordered was from Game, I will be on my complain-a-thon if they don't contain them. Let us (me) know what Game say, in case they are shipping them out late, or something :munkeh:

PS - I am playing Viva Pinata Pocket Paradise - well, I have just started it up, anyway. So far it is joyous - the music, the snoring horstachio... Ahhhhhhh :smug:

hehe, yeah, I'll be at Poker - I thought maybe it would arrive a day early when it said it was posted yesterday, but I'll drag myself away.

I love game manuals. When Craig and I used to pick games up from Gamestation and there was a bus ride home I'd always want to read the manual on the bus, but Craig would always tell me to wait until we got home. Oh, I tell you this because I am reading, it's not just another piece of useless info. Oh, well, yes, it is, but you know what I mean.

God games such as Railroad Tycoon and Civ 1 came with a lot of non-game-control related background articles which was a good way to while away spare hours.

I have just tried Pinata vision, and shock upon shock it actually seems to work!

Ignore the thing about setting the focus ring of the camera to fully anti-clockwise and focus it manually on an abject about six inches from the lens before you start.

The game changes more the further you get in, Rev Owen. I know 'cos I have been playing it ALL DAY LONG.

My eyes are now rectangular. Or, as my nan would say 'oblong'.

Isn't 'oblong' just the best word ever?

She is wrong about 'mauve' though - ugly word. Only for use by old ladies. Purple slurple - much much better.

Whats the difference between this and the first one?

Is it just the addition of desert and winter gardens? Have they streamlined the interface and that? I'm not being a dick, it's just some games are worth playing in order and some just are the same game improved so it's worth getting the latest. I assume this falls into the latter?

If you haven't played the first I recommend going straight to the second. It's like the first game but with twice the content - they seem to have added the second game onto the first, if you can understand what I am so poorly explaining. It's like a whole new game but the whole first game is also present in the playing of it...

I have only been playing it a day* though, bare in mind.



*A whole day, though :P

If you go straight to the second you can come and visit my garden via eggbox alive, too!

Well, yes. Recently, in the Namco thread, I made the point about DLC being content that was planned for the original, but there wasn't enough time for it, which would usually end up as the basis for a sequel. And remember how adamant rare were that they weren't going to do any DLC for VP1. That'd be because they were using what could've been DLC in the sequel instead.

Much of the stuff in VP2 is stuff that was half done for VP1 (the multiplayer, for example). It's a sequel in the same way Doom2 was.

In all honesty, I'm a bit put off... having to slog my way through worms and snakes and mice again before I start to get at the good stuff (all with Leafos being condescending and snooty in my ear, I bet) will drive me nuts. It'll be like when you get a new GTA game, and have to fart around in a bunch of pathetic early missions waiting for the game to open the spray shops/gun shops/etc etc.

Terraforming seems exactly the same so far, but with a bit more control on pond size.

The tutorial is different and set up as a series of three challenges. It goes on a while and is quite annoying, but also quite useful, as it shows you how to do the new stuff.

Yes, no, no, no, yes.

Changing the ground is different. Firstly you have the option of (actually, maybe spoilers here)

snow and sand - plus animals, plants etc that are attracted to this


Also, making a water pondsis different - you seem to be able to dig them deeper, but you can also set corner flags and auto dig a pond to that shape - like setting corner points in photoshop, or something.

The garden is bigger, there is a megaton more stuff yu can do/put in it, you don't have to do the tutorial (I am 90% sure). You can't import your garden (I think)

Also, MetalA you don't have to slog your way through the whirlms, etc - you actually go straight through to some larger animals in the first five minutes - I think it knows that you don't want to start attracting whirlms again like the first one, it starts you off with some larger, brand new pinata.
