It's deliberate, otherwise everything is really small and you always have to zoom. Isn't it about the right size?

It's perfect until anyone posts a picture or writes a very long line.

Very long lines I can't help (I take it you mean lines with no spaces in), but pictures should resize once the page has loaded to fit.

At the risk of angering Grim, I've got a feature request while we're in this thread.

When you're URLising a bit of text you highlight the text in question then click the URL button which gives you this:

Code:
[url]some text[/url]

you then need to manually edit it to add in the actual URL by sticking in an '=' symbol and the URL to get:

Code:
[url=http://www.blah.com]some text[/url]

On some forum I used years ago the process was more automated; so when you clicked the URL button it popped up a text box into which you pasted the URL and it then automatically added the url tags, the '=' symbol and the URL itself and you got your nice URLised text without further buggering about. If you just wanted to make a bare text URL clickable as that button does right now then you entered nothing in the pop-up text box and you just got your basic URL tags around whatever you've highlighted.

Tapatalk also now comes up with errors when trying to access the forum. Not a big deal I now use the mobile site instead.

Post subject:  Re: Forum changes!

If you want to make a bare text URL clickable you just type it into the main posting box - you only need to wrap it in tags if it's got invalid characters in.

I don't know how much of a problem it is because I don't really use the buttons, I just type it in, so I'll listen if other people are struggling with the same thing. As you may have noticed, I don't like to take my hands off the keyboard unless I have to ;)

Also, that handy-dandy popup box would be broken in iOS7 Safari, so I'd have to write one :)

Ah, yes, you're right. Well that makes an even better argument for my idea because it means the URL button's functionality is utterly half-arsed at the moment; in that it's not at all required for bare URLs and only does a random part of the job in the other scenario. I wonder why it's designed that way (presuming it's the default board software functionality we're running here)?

I'm not really struggling or anything, it's just something that's annoyed me a bit because when I'm URLising text I wonder why I'm having to do half the job manually. It did also strike me the other day when someone was considering doing Beex Week but admitted to not knowing how to URLise stuff that having to edit the tags manually is pretty unfriendly in general. Um, not that I'm saying this'll help keep Beex Week running, lest I utterly sabotage my own suggestion here. ;)

Eh, I had assumed you just wouldn't bother applying a change like this to the mobile skin because (a) it's more work and (b) how many people are striving to do nice formatting like this when they're posting from their phone? Certainly I don't and probably still wouldn't purely because selecting text is a pain in the dick.

Excellently, I've done it in the time it took you to write that

The mobile skin doesn't have buttons, so meh.

Is this only on a certain skin? I just get the existing functionality when I click the button on subsilver2 at the moment.

ETA: A Ctrl+Refresh got it up and running. Thanks Grim!

umm, it seems to be single shift and single ctrl on here, rather than double shift or double ctrl.
makes using the quick reply a trifle tricky...

i would put a smiley in, but i can't as i can't use the shift button...

Gosh no, nobody actually uses Safari do they?

Post subject:  Re: Forum changes!

Double-shift in the Quick Reply box takes me through to the normal Reply box on Firefox.

However, so does holding down Shift, which makes it quite hard to highlight text in a post I've made.

It also loses any text that I've put into the quick reply box when taking me to the normal Reply box.

Also, the shortcut applies to the normal Reply box too, but when you let go of the key it goes to a 404 page saying that beexcellenttoeachother.com/undefined could not be found.

I figure this may be the problem with the Apple things.

That shouldn't happen. You might need to do some hardcore page refreshing. But not now, obviously, because I've turned it off.

Oh man :(

I even tried to switch to using the Beex mobile site instead, but it won't let me mark all threads as read, and I need that for my tiny brain to take in what's new in the forums because certain threads don't interest me and so I don't read. And now they've messed up Tapatalk?

Surely you still need to know which threads you're not interested in by name so you know when (or when not) to mark them as read?

Post subject:  Re: Forum changes!

Yes, but imagine I have decided that none of the red threads on this page interest me so I want to make them all blue (so, marked as read) until I next visit.

I'd like to click a button to mark them all read, like I do in the main site or Tapatalk. I can see the thread names fine :)

It doesn't seem to stay ticked if you read a thread, and then go back to the page.
