OK, this is awesome. If you ignore the painfully bad writing in the briefings.

Seriously, awesome.

That looks familiar. Does it also have a first-person view too?

In other news - S Korea child 'starves as parents raise virtual baby'

No, that was the old, commercial, game on the PC many moons back. This is a fan-made straight port of the boardgame, made with GW's blessing, apparently.

AI, no online.

I did find an online, multiplayer port of Battletech the board game, if you're interested in properly old-school stuff. "Megamek" or something.

My work used to have these Mars caramel sachet things to add to the hot chocolate dispensed by the vending machine (one of those jobbies where everything comes in sachets, you just pick what you want and plonk it in the machine). They were a bit sickly, but nice enough in moderation. Apparently they got too expensive though, so they stopped stocking them. However, I discovered not 30 minutes ago that a colleague stashed a load of them when we were told they were stopping, so I grabbed one from his supply, made myself Mars hot chocolate and guzzled the lot. Yum.

Then we discovered that the sachets are more than 9 months past their use-by date. I'm sure they're fine, but my stomach is premptively feeling slightly queasy.

Right, I have tried the nice approach:

Zio wrote:
Does anyone here have Spotify Premium? I'm thinking of getting it, since I use it at work but our internet connection goes through a proxy in France and I've used up the amount of time I'm allowed to use the free service from "abroad". Plus, it'll let me use it on my iPhone.

What I want to know is, can I cancel the monthly subscription at any point, or am I locked in for 12 months or so? Also, is the offline mode of the iPhone version any good?

See?

So where the fuck's my answer, shitbags?

Nah, just fancied some Friday vulgarity was all. Too bloody late now anyway, since I'm going home now and won't give a monkeys about Spotify till Monday.

Love you all really, in a 'promise I won't make you pregnant' kind of way!

You can cancel at any time. No set contract, just a tenner a month 'til you don't want it any more.

The iPhone version is good, as long as you can maintain a decent 3G signal. Offline mode is nice, but obviously you have to keep the program running for the music to play. You can lock your phone in your pocket without interrupting it, but it'll cut out if you close Spotify or someone phones you.

A large pillar of black smoke emerged from a residential area on the far side of the train depot, got thicker, then started to go a lighter shade of grey and eventually vanished.

Defrost them individually for making soups or stews or casseroles and that, silly.

Rather than making 1 or 2 massive pots of stuff now.

I have no idea how much stock is needed for a pot of stuff.

it's just sitting in a jug cooling down at the moment, it'll probably turn to a jelly like substance soon I think.

I'll freeze half and use half of it tomorrow.

I live a stone's throw away from Bicester Airfield, there's some dude with a Tiger Moth replica or somesuch flies about. Feel free to come up and we can sit in the garde and hope it arrives or hang about on their land. But not in July.

No idea, it was just the date that was on them. I managed to cure the queasy feeling in my belly by going to the pub after work and having a pint of San Miguel, so everything's fine now. Fear not.

I know so little about code it hurts. Not asking for help, just having a little rant.

I have two IDENTICAL pages, but by changing the name off all instances of one parameter stops it working. It's a parameter I set myself, so it's not part of the language that I'm misusing. I just need to go and do something else for a while until I can see what I've done wrong. Mwaaargh!

I needed to, as it was going to run a query from a different server.

Turns out the server wasn't running! Problem solved.

In other news, you know where you eat so much food and then cram five Rocky Caramel bars down you as well, and you're not hungry, but you still want to eat, and so you eat some more until you are actually so full that you nearly throw up and have a massive coughing fit?

Yeah, me neither.

Not done any myself but I'm interested. I don't think I have enough room to get started though. Last night I enjoyed some really nice White wine, made by Mrs Zs step Dad.
