Phew. Quick thinking batman.

I wouldn't worry too much about leaving the window open, don't beat yourself up over it, could have happened anyhow.

It was (is) an Octavia VRS...getting on a bit now as it's about five years old but it goes like stink. That's why I'm worried that they could do some damage with it.

Cheers, that's what the SOC Copper and the Statement taking coppers said but it doesn't stop the feeling.

I won't feel 100% secure at home until auto-tracking mounted turrets become legal.

And in spooky coincidence news I got a call from my mother to tell me my cousin in Liverpool who has just returned from hospital with her two new twins was broken into last night and they nicked the car keys, locked her, her boyfriend and the three kids in the house and then proceeded to nick all the baby stuff and their car.

Wankers.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can be such utter, utter cunts. Makes all my issues seem very silly in comparison.

Jesus Morte, that's awful! :(

I never lock my door when I'm in the house, isn't it a fire risk?

Amusingly, my new missus has just registered under the name Shin.

Without me telling her of the forum's existence.

What are the chances? Especially considering she's supposed to be locked up in my basement.

Welcome anyway, dear.

That's actually a little creepy. She's clearly a spy.

In the event of a fire I *think* I'll be capable of the 2-second action of unlocking the door before I'm burned to death. The idea that you shouldn't lock it in case you spazz out so much that you can't get the door unlocked is patently absurd.

Having the windows locked when you're in strikes me as a bit odd. I lock everything up at night, but not during the day.

Either way, you should call that chick and tell ehr about it, just in case she's unaware.

The internet should be a thing where you can only post a teeny bit of text. A daily 50 character limit or something.

Everything is locked up 24/7 at mine, windows and doors, whether I'm in or out. For some reason, there are extra locks on the back door too.

Craster strokes badgers and they are known to spread TB.

Depends on whether they batter their way in, or slip in quietly. I'm sorry to hear about your burglary, Morte. I am thinking I should put my keys somewhere other than the sideboard by the door now.

And welcome, Shin!
