You're right! We better nip this in the bud and get the forum back on track again; back in touch with it's roots.

So, what type of bin is everyone using these days?

:D Which reminds me of the best quote:

Mike: "What name have they decided on?"
Trigger: "If it's a girl they're calling her Sigourney after an actress, and if it's a boy they're naming him Rodney after Dave."

Related to this conversation, I took a picture of our boy last night and he pulled a face that I think makes him look just like Del Boy:

Nope, me neither. Some of it is quite funny but it's hardly the pinnacle of comedy.

Ah, the famous Diwali Santa Claus! We do have a lot of Diwali fireworks going off tonight, but there is a house on the way to our workplace that has a full Christmas scene including a 20ft tall Snowman in a hot air balloon up from November 1st each year. They come down in March.

I bet their neighbours despise them.

"Burning Rangers" and "Three Dirty Dwarves", neither of which I'd heard of.
Considering I bought the console and twenty games for about thirty quid from a boot sale I'm very pleased to find it's worth about five hundred quid in total.

Yep. Those games seem to have gone up and up recently. I sold a cult of burning rangers for exactly £40 about 2 years ago.... I thought I'd done well at the time.

Since I ditched public transport and started driving to work I've felt a heck of a lot more relaxed and have far more time in the evenings than I used to. I'm also drinking less as I don't feel the need to nip into a pub rather than wait in the cold for a bus.

The only downside is that when the roads aren't busy, I'm getting to work far earlier than I'd like to (there's only so much aimless wandering I can do in the morning, and the library isn't open at that hour). I think I need to risk leaving the house a bit later and not worry about getting caught in traffic or being unable to find a parking space.

Can't you just sit in the car and listen to the radio if you get in early?

You know, that never occurred to me! I tend to listen to the radio when I'm walking the mile or so in from the car park or ambling round town so wouldn't be too different. I usually have a book in the glove box anyway. Still, getting in early means leaving earlier and less time stuck in the rush hour traffic (although I tend to enjoy taking the scenic route back to avoid the A34).

I don't know, but she set everything up for me so I don't really care. Not like there isn't anything she can't already do with it that she cant without it.

That sentence hurt my head.

Haven't heard the first Slade yet. The excerpt on a recent 'Only Connect' did not count.

It was playing in Asda (not The Asdas) last night, but they were unwilling to go full on Christmas radio (although I think there was one other Christmas song, but I can't remember what it was).

John Lewis started their Christmas music when the two minutes silence finished.

Which must have sounded pretty odd.

Fucking hell yeah - going from the silence straight into the first play-through of christmas tunes? That must have been a proper WTF moment.

Going for an eye test tomorrow, I'm pretty sure that I need glasses. Still I've got to 42 without them and all the rest of my family are pretty much a bunch of magoos so not too bad I suppose. Mainly for distance stuff really, noticed it when playing golf a lot and a bit when flying planes. I also tried on Mr Burrrt's glasses and it was like the world was in HD.
