Nothing Ive heard about Dead Rising 3 has made me want it. Its almost as if theyve taken every reason I liked Dead Rising and done the opposite.

The more I think about this free Fifa 14 thing, the stupider it appears. Without wanting to generalise, the sorts of people who would be swayed by this are mainstream gamers who tend to buy 2-3 games a year, tops. They were also probably going to buy an XBO anyway, as they don't care about reselling games etc. Fifa games end up being worth nothing after 12 months.

If so, why is it Xbox One only? Why only for pre-orders? If EA felt it could make more money from in-game content than it could from upfront game purchases, it'd just take FIFA entirely free-to-play. The fact that it isn't F2P indicates to me that no, this isn't just a way to sell in-game content.

Microsoft announced its indie and self-publishing policies yesterday, and the company said that it isn't asking for exclusivity but "we do ask for day-one parity with other platforms". Looking at the abundance of indie games announced by Sony as timed-PS4 exclusives, what happens now that all these games have not met that requirement?

The Xbox One Might Be Out On November 8

The PlayStation 4 is out in the US on November 15. The Xbox One? Well, it's looking like it could hit the market a week ahead of its competitor.

While Microsoft is yet to officially announce the big day, and "release dates" on retailer sites are usually little more than window dressing, we've heard from someone a little closer to the launch that Microsoft is planning a November 8 release for its latest console.

The source, who works for a marketing company that handles signage and product placement for retail giant Walmart, passed along what they say is an email for a company conference call that lists all the midnight openings the chain has planned.

As you can see, alongside the big holiday games, and just before the PS4, is the Xbox One, at November 8. Note however that, unlike every other date listed, the Xbox One's lacks a "confirmed" status, suggesting Microsoft is yet to lock the date down.

The fact it's not locked down of course means the day could change, but it also suggests it's a recent decision. Almost as though Microsoft were waiting for Sony to commit to a day before scheduling their own launch, in order to get the jump on the PS4.

I think you're missreading that (or the website you're linking to is). I preordered (from Amazon) before Fifa was announced. When Fifa was announced my order was converted to the one with fifa.

I think it just means that it's first come, first served with respect to who get it. But surely that's always been the case with any limited edition thing?

I think you're misreading my post, and specifically, missing the word 'unless'. If you preordered an Xbone early doors, you didn't pre-order a Day One edition, because they didn't exist. If your supplier has converted the order, as did Amazon in your case, then good for you. But there is no certainty that they will.
