I'm annoyed today. One of the bosses here asked me to edit a video together, which I did following his brief. He came back and said it was great and that he loved it.

I've come in today to have HIS boss say to me that it wasn't what HE was after and he didn't think it got the message across.

My response to this was that I followed the brief I was given and they're going to have to sort it out themselves. These two guys don't seem to like each other but seem happy to dish out orders going against the others wishes.

Best I can advise is to copy the both of them into all communications and that way they can't play against each other with you in the middle.

Anything verbal you ask them to 'just send me a quick email so I don't forget.'

Absolutely what Russell says on this. I day do the work (which is part of your job, I guess) but either copy the higher guy into the ongoing conversation, or if that was only verbal, start s new email with them both, laying out the new spec as you jbderstsnd it and ask for confirmation that this is agreed as to what's wanted before proceeding.

But yeah, It's a pain but I'm going to have to do that from now on. My boss is off now until Monday. I know she'd agree with me and probably suggest the same until they get themselves in order.

I have managed to injure myself, so I can't do a triathlon in a few weeks...

I contacted the organisers, to defer or refund. They can't defer, and the cut off for a refund was 1st September.

They have a waiting list, and will sell my place again for full price. Basically getting paid twice.

Can I insist on a refund?

Dammit, I am not happy with the place being paid twice.

I am sure if they can take a payment, then can make a refund. :)

I got this email

Hi

Unfortunately as per the competitor briefing we don’t allow refunds after 1st September

If you would like to keep your place and see how you feel on the day you are welcome to otherwise if now let me know as I do have a large waiting list

Many Thanks

£36 as only a Sprint Tri.

I would do it next year and no reason, they can't give me a credit for next year.

I must admit, saying they've got a huge waiting list somewhat undercuts their reasoning for not being able to give you a refund.

If they can't refund you then I wouldn't cancel and keep your place. They can't sell it twice then and also, you should go and do it but walk/paddle/cycle really slowly round the whole course and take all day so they have to stay there for you.

If you used a credit card (or some debit cards), tell them to get the money back for you.

What's the actual rules on that? I know that they can and will claw back the money, but technically the race firm are in the right and Kov's agreed to their T&Cs, no?

You're assuming the credit card company is even going to glance at the details before taking the money and saying "come at me, bro".

Just got back from three days at the Priory. Would have been nice if I didn't have to go into work down there to run an induction course.

Wife and daughter are away so as I was home alone last night I decided to dust off the old telescope: :hat:

Attachment:
moon.jpeg

Most magnification and the best I could do with my phone, because I just had to hold it against the eyepiece which made it all wobble everywhere.

It did spur me on to read about using phones for this though and you can get a holder for them which means you can shoot loads of pictures then use some software to stack them and bring out more details etc. So I might give that a go.

I don't believe in ghosts, the paranormal, or life after love, but every time I read ghost stories by myself I get the shivers. Just spent an hour reading 'Reddit' threads on skinwalkers and now don't want to go outside.
