I'm trying to get a better font for coding than Courier New - one that's specifically for coding with?
Any suggestions?

Whatever the new Vista/Office 2k7 font is. Consolas, that's it.

That is nice, but I can't seem to get it to a size I'm comfortable with. I like Anonymous best so far, I think.
But look at this one - not only is it ugly as fuck, but they expect you to pay for it!

- Andale Mono - http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/core ... e?download
- Droid Sans Mono - http://damieng.com/blog/2007/11/14/droi ... oding-font
- Inconsolata - http://www.levien.com/type/myfonts/inconsolata.html
- Lucida Console (might be a Mac font, that one)
- Monaco (ditto)

I use "monospaced" size 14 plain. I have no idea if monospace is a generic name and is actually using Courier New instead, or is indeed a font that came with jedit. It's good. I like it. It works fine.

I use Lucida Console, 9pt - my eyes are getting old, I can't cope with small any more*. It rules, and is standard Windows fare. I also use white on black.

* I used to use on a 19in monitor at 1600x1200, everything 6-8pt. My current monitor is a 22in LCD at 1680x1050.
