Hello my Beexy's chums. Advise-me-do!

Do any of you guys and gals know of any music software that operates like this does? And don't say GarageBand or the eJay series. They are fundamentally different. e.g, Garageband's a normal mutli-track recording studio with the ability to play loops/samples. That fun little web page allows you to, within it's tiny limitations, choose different chord and rhythm structures and get them chirping out in seconds.

So, if any of you know anything like this, do tell. If not, I'm going to make one and sell it for billions.* Thanks. xx

*I might not actually do this.

Is this not the kind of thing Propellerhead Reason does?

Renoise?

Definitely not Renoise, though it is the music software I like to use. Reason would be more the sort of thing you want.

Though really something like a Yamaha QY70 would be best.

Hello chums! I have Renoise, but it's not like this. It's good, but it's not the one. I found out about something called Band0in-a-box. The full on thing costs £350 and comes on a 150gb hard drive. Check out this video: http://64.40.109.185/pgmusic/wmv/2008_5 ... 60x240.wmv

Higher bandwidth one here. It's long but it made me drool. Then I found out the price tag. THEN I saw a demo was available of last years version, so I downloaded it. It's very good, but it's not worth all that money. Especially as it has quite possibly the worst interface I've ever seen. Even worse than one of those dialouge boxes that moves location when you go to press "cancel" and forces you to admit you have a small willy. Additionally, they have a customer review section on their site. Everyone basically says: "Brill software; but my eyes melted".... and they leave it up. How honest!

I know, I'm just a slavering Renoise fanboy. I'm using it for my National Socialist Breakcore project, oh yes...

I'd like to mention, while it is completely irrelevant to this thread, how incredibly awesome the DS-10 is from Korg. It's two monosynths and a drum machine.. for your DS! Amazing. And when the rom is trimmed it's a measly 6mb.

I wish they would add a scroll bar to Renoise, as it seems to want a screen size much bigger than what I have. It always puts me off it.

Actually Activebass reminds me a bit of Wavetransit, a Vst loop creator for anything that accepts Vst as standard. You put in a sample, fiddle with the parameters and listen to the loop it creates. Website me herehttp://www.psychicmodulation.com.

I love the stuff Psychic Modulation have put out. The Paradigm Shifter is great for noise.

Renoise has scrollbars, doesn't it? Which bit isn't scrolly for you? :S

Renoise requires a screen size much bigger than what my screen can handle (my screen size 800 x 600). When I've installed it previously, it has displayed about 90% of the screen with either the top 10% missing, or more usefully the bottom 10%. A scroll bar for the main program is what I'm after, but is probably unworkable. Though a small screen version of Renoise would be better though.

Buying a computer made since 1993 might work too ;)
