Not until today no! I have a TV that I'm happy with. my local Tesco is one of the mega ones and used to have the TV's placed so you sort of had to go past them to get to the food. At that time they were all Samsung and other brands I'd heard off.

Now they have moved all the TV's etc somewhere else in the store so I never walk past them anymore

Queueing only works as long as everyone in the queue thinks they have a chance of getting what they're queueing for. The mistake that these shops have made is having a pile of the tellies or whatever that people can see whilst they queue. Someone say 30 people from the front does a quick tally in their head and realises that they're unlikely to get what they've waited for and they get anxious. This anxiety transmits down the queue in both directions and order breaks down.

They should hand them out from a stock room one by one.

Or! Send fucking Black Friday back over the pond where they're used to this fucking madness.

A pallet is often the only way to get stock on to a shop floor for stunt deals, though. The idea being to clear the stock ASAP, stacking shelves just takes too long.

The sound of all those marbles clashing down through the sticks into the plastic dish just makes an earsome racket. I prefer Buckaroo.

They also have some ok offers on more expensive stuff. Lanson Pink was £25 I think and Moet Pink £27.

Usually give Moet a wide berth as its overprice for what it is, the Pink is really nice though, my wife was given a bottle as a present.

They've got Heidsieck-Monopole blue top for £17 too, which I really like.

Sainsbury's are doing good deals, but a lot of them are 25% off if you buy 6 bottles.

A few years ago I found a deal on champagne in a Threshers shop in Ascot

I ended up paying around £45 a bottle for some Taittinger 1998 vintage, it costs around £120 now

There has never been an occasion good enough in my wife's eyes to crack it open my 40th, the birth of our first child etc

Thinking about it, its been it the cupboard so long I'm not 100% its Taittinger!! its defiantly 1998 and vintage and the price is right as I looked it up a couple of years ago.

Problem is my dad told us that the vintage can be kept for years hence it costing more, I should check this and maybe get it cracked open at Xmas!

It can be kept for years if you keep it right, i.e. in the dark and cool and on it's side so the cork doesn't dry out.
If you haven't been doing that, then it's probably still ok, but you might as well drink it as it won't get better over time, and could possibly be a bit crap if the cork has dried out.

You should always open a special bottle whenever you want to, rather than waiting for a special occasion.
Bored on a wet wednesday afternoon? Open the special champagne, now it is a special wet wednesday afternoon!

The rule on champagne is typically that you can keep it for as long as it's been laid down for. Finding out how long that bottle was laid down for is the tricky part :)

However! It ain't going to have been 10 years - so drink it soon, because it'll be right at the end of it's shelf life by now.

Heh. If it's definitely 1998 then yes, it would definitely be vintage ;) If it was definitely 2011 it'd be vintage, too :)

If you've been seeing her for a year then I'd suggest you're beyond the champagne and presents 'just because' stage. About a year beyond it.

Its Taittinger and is in a dark cool place on its side, can't believe I had all that done, there is also a bottle of Veuve Clicquot 2002 Vintage in there that I had forgotten about, but is in there for the same reasons. It will be drunk at Xmas

I found the same Taittinger on Tesco for £129 a bottle, it says in the information that it can be kept for 10 years

We must have bought this 1998 around 6 years ago when I guess the 10 years was up for these bottles so that explains the sale price :)

So not sure what it will taste like but will have a backup bottle of something else in the fridge on Xmas Day!

Tesco doing Lanson Pink for £25 and Lason Black Label for £22

The bottles are a 2014 Wimbledon Edition and come with some sort of cooling jacket, still good to drink for 2 years though.

I've don't see what everyone sees in champagne. I mean I've tried it lots of times, and it's alright. I always think it tastes vaguely Diamond White-y myself.

I think cheap sweet sparkling wine is a much nicer drink.

Well champagne's not meant to be sweet, so if you like sweet sparkling wine it's no real surprise you're not a champagne fan.
