I'm probably really late on this fad, but "shreds" videos are really amusing me at the moment.

I think the general idea is that a live performance video of a band is stripped of its audio and then new audio is added on to make the performance seem crap (and funny).

I've watched a load of these recently & been generally very impressed with the editing skills of the uploaders.

Don't know how to embed YouTube videos (someone on here did teach me a while back in this thread but I was probably a bit drunk & can't remember) so here are links to some of my faves.
Some are very silly, some are more subtle. They all made me laugh though :

Kings Of Leon : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOF1FJ7wGhw

The Beach Boys : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-0CS-T1HUQ

Muse : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y55gBPKxQYo

Bruce Springsteen : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW6Ny0iPRfs

Chick Corea Elektrik Band (never heard of them, I love this though) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clF_SNa23lI

The Cure : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvNuArAFFF8

P.S. Here's one for "Star Trek - The Next Generation" fans....

DHL sends packages coated in thermo-active gel via their competitors.

When the packages warm up their competitors are now carting massive adverts for DHL :D

Kind of, but you have to cheat it with the Google Maps tags.

Paco de Lucía, possibly the greatest guitarist of modern times, has passed away.

Rummaging around on youtube, I found this very enjoyable and varied performance.

Frisky and Mannish were the ones that wrote (and performed most of) Scott Mills' "Perfect Christmas Single" in 2012, too - I liked that a lot ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIFdJsLRkRM if you are interested).

I need to figure out a way to use the word "frankincensational" more in everyday conversation.

I LIKE THIS.

It looks like Frisky and Mannish only do lame comedy shows and comedy songs, rather than putting out CDs. WHAT GIVES?

Does anyone know of a singer that the lady in Game of Moans sounds like? It's someone like Alicia Keys, but not. Infact it reminds me of the Star Wars version of Empire State of Mind, which might be why I'm thinking of Alicia Keys. I really dig this voice and want to hear more (though they'd probably be singing about living in the hood and I'll immediately not listen to it).

(make sure to watch til 3:34 for a cheap oggle)

The Thing - The Musical

Seen a few of these comedy "The Musical" or "The Opera" versions of films before, usually Schwarzenegger films where they have an Arnold sound-a-like narrating / singing during the clip. All very good.

This one is a bit different though. Personal favourite bit is the the "Do-ba-do-ba-do-ba-da-do" section starting at 2.23 :

Helps if you're familiar with John Carpenters 1982 classic of course....

I don't think that beats the one with Stephen Merchant and JGL. Fallon was much better in this one, though.

Uploader clearly can't spell "best".

[edit] The end of this video contains a thumbnail of a girl with her boobie out. When did YouTube allow things like that?
