This reminds me of when I took my ex to Lincoln Cathedral and she wandered around translating it. That was quite attractive.

I wonder if Lincoln council have banned latin, given that Lincoln is Lindum Colonia, or Hill Town. Then there's Lindum Hill, in Lincoln (Or Hill Hill, in Hill Town). You know, I doubt they could ban latin, really. Drive five miles out of town in any direction and pass a base with 'per ardua ad astra' across the signage!

"Cathedral. Cathedral cathedral, cathedral. Cathedral cathedral cathedral cathedral, cathedral cathedral? Cathedral."

Fun times.

Gaudete! gaudete! Christus est natus ex Maria Virgine: Gaudete!

Tempus adest gratiae, Hoc quod optabamus;
Carmina laeticiae Devote redamus.

Gaudete! gaudete! Christus est natus ex Maria Virgine: Gaudete!

Deus homo factus est, Natura mirante;
Mundus renovatus est, A Christo regnante.

Gaudete! gaudete! Christus est natus ex Maria Virgine: Gaudete!

Ezechiellis porta Clausa pertransitur;
Unde lux est orta, Salus invenitur.

Gaudete! gaudete! Christus est natus ex Maria Virgine: Gaudete!

Ergo nostra concito Psallat iam in lustro;
Benedicat Domino: Salus Regi nostro.

Gaudete! gaudete! Christus est natus ex Maria Virgine: Gaudete!

And is hastily withdrawn a week later as scores of players off themselves while singing Miserere.

"miserere nobis" was a phrase in one of the bits of Carmina Burana that I could never sing without laughing.

Given that the piece is about students getting drunk, gambling, and fornicating, I think that's pretty tame.
