Craster, is it possible to put the theme in each of these threads? I'm not sure of the criteria with which to judge these, though The Fraggles naturally wins, whatever it is.

It's the subtitle on each thread. Not sure if you see that on a phone.

The sub-title of each group thread reveals the theme.

As long as you don't want to attach anything.

Yes, that works better so I've bookmarked it. It's not as quick or easy to browse as the app for me, but for this purpose it's really handy. Apart from not carrying the poll option, but oh well, can't have everything.

Cheers, Grimmet.

Some great songs here. Who said the 80s was rubbish?

I love that Electric Dreams tune. I wonder how many of you have seen the movie though?

It made me cry

Right, to whoever it is that STOLE my choice (Together in Electric Dreams): when I find out who you are, you are going on my foe list. I know, I know, but I really am very angry.

I vow to do at least the following from now to eternity:

- tut and sigh whenever I see a post from you
- think unpleasant thoughts about you (for example, your milk has gone off just as you fancy a brew, your favourite TV programme started a minute early and you missed the title sequence, and that you forget why you entered a room and have to wait TWO minutes until you remember why)
- I'll probably allude to there being a git on this forum to random strangers TWICE A YEAR

Do not expect a snazzy charity Christmas card this year - you'll be getting one from a big box from Woolworths, with a SECOND CLASS stamp, sent shortly before the deadline.

Never cross Alarm again. >:(

Fraggles - No.
Guns N Roses - This would be my hell. In hell, every morning the clock radio alarm would switch on to Axl cunting Rose squawking. "wauuuughhhhh! Good mornin' Malc! Ready for another day of fire an' brimstone? Wauuuugggghhhh!". I'd work in the saltpetre mines to endless GnR. I'd eat my sulphur and ashes to an infinite loop of Axl's screaming. WaauuughhAAAARGHWaauuughhAAAARGHWaauuughhAAAARGH!". I'd cry myself to sleep at night - tears sizzling as they fall onto the hot coals - and Axl would be there with me. Squawking. "Waaauugggghhh! Nighty night, Malc! See ya tomorrow! Waauuuuughhhh!"
I fucking hate Guns n Roses.

Nine Inch Nails - Intense. Rubbish, mind, but Intense rubbish. It gets a point though.

Phil & Giorgio - Yeah, it's alright. I don't think it'd really clobber me in the face if I was thinking "best song of the eighties". I'm faintly disturbed that two people nominated it, because it's not that good. Two points though.

Prince - Prince would take over from Guns n Roses whenever Axl needed a break from squawking.

Pixies - Three points, although it's practically a walkover.

In short - the eighties were much, much better than this, you clots!

Axl is arguably the world's biggest cunt, and as a band they only released one good album (well, two if you count Lies), but Sweet Child O' Mine is a towering masterpiece of a track.

Slash's timeless guitar work elevates it to the ranks of greatness, and the lyrics are amazingly tender considering they were written by a certified fucking wanker.

Hate Guns 'N Roses by all means, but surely it's impossible not to like that track?

Why?

I'm genuinely interested.

I had Appetite For Destruction on in the car a few weeks ago, TBH a lot of it has aged badly, but Sweet Child O' Mine is still a track of stunning power and beauty.

After it finished I looked over to Mrs AE and said 'Fuck me that's a tune and a half', and she replied 'I know, it's breathtaking.'

I strongly dislike the vocals for a start. It's a memorable riff but the song as a whole just seems the exact opposite of things I'm interested in music. It's also posturing ROCK which I tend to dislike.

Far and away the best group this week. Which goes to show Chinny was right all along.

And Pixies were the pick of the pack.
