Week 3: Cover versions

Week 4:

Quote:
A Fruit

B "Crimes against Music.

You need to pick, and people will be voting for, the most appalling track you can possibly scrape from the bottom of the Music barrel. Songs can range from novelty acts to one hit wonders to ill advised duets, anything really.

Two restrictions arise:

1 - The song must have actually been released by a record label. You cannot therefore pick a song that Katie Brand sung on her TV show, or 3 minutes of noises.

2 - The primary language of the song must be english, to prevent everyone picking croation techno folk."

C 'Inappropriate'

D 'Angry'

E Your favourite track of the 80s

F songs about animals

Week 5 - Songs due by 8pm 6th September:

Quote:
A - The song that plays over the closing montage and credits to the film of your life.

B - Songs With Names In The Titles

C - Classical

D - "Abstraction"

E - Songs from Film Soundtracks

F - Royalty

Week 6 - Songs due by 8pm 13th September

Quote:
A - Songs about a location you have been to

B - Musicals. Anyone posting a song from the Blues Brothers gets banned.

C - Remixes or Mashups

D - Solo artists

E - Songs that make you happy

F - Songs that make you sad

Week 7 - Songs due by 8pm 20th September

Quote:
A Songs that feature unusual instruments

B Songs that would make good 'on hold' music

C Politics

D Songs involving war or fighting

E Autumn

F Songs that make use of brass

Week 8 themes, due 8pm 28th September:

Quote:
A Great songs that never made it into the top 20

B Food fight!

C You're not the singer!

Songs where the vocals are
performed by someone who is either not a recognised singer within the
band, or much better known for doing something else.

Exceptions - No Vic Reeves or William Shatner. Too obvious.

Feel free to mention the vocalist if it isn't obvious."

D Swearing

E Robot/Cyborg

F Weather

I didn't bother putting dates and times on week 4, because it's due today and everyone who hasn't submitted has already been PMd about it. And you've already submitted a song. And queried it in the other thread. So nyer. Future weeks will have the deadlines added.

Pretty sure I haven't submitted one for this week, and I haven't got a PM...

If you're pretty sure you haven't submitted one, then you don't need a PM, do you, idiot?

Just proving you wrong again, that's all. It's like grenading fish in a barrel, though.

So none of the fish would die, right? Because the grenade fragments haven't had any time to get up to lethal speed?

If the fish were electric eels they wouldn't need dynamoes either.

Can fish actually play dominoes, or do they just use them to build mini fishy forts?

WELL I CERTAINLY WON'T LIKE IT.

(Probably as it seems our taste in music is quite different but never mind, eh?) (Actually no, hang on, this is the internet so we have to argue to the death about it, right?)

If you (or anyone else) doesn't like it, you're either too young or dead inside. Or both.

Apparently someone in my group picked my song. :'(

So, don't vote for it. Vote for whatever I choose to replace it.

Quite incredible. 6 people, given a decade of music to choose from, and two of them choose the same song.

It is an excellent song, though.

I'll have to upload an mp3 of my second choice tomorrow, as the artist frequently gets his videos removed from YT. There aren't any on there with the original music.

It's when you wish to portray complex form through a simpler medium.

In music, that might mean a piece depicting a battle with mucho drummage.

Man.

I'm pretty sure the person who suggested the theme had no idea whatsoever that it had any musical meaning.

I was hoping they'd picked it because they had some sort of towering piece of music in mind. Like some tosser slapping a biscuit tin lid with his cock and mooing.

No really. You can't get better than second. Being first isn't cool. Few of the best songs ever have been number one hits. This proves my point ENTIRELY.
