I like most of the songs in this group apart from the Hocus Pocus one.

I remember really liking 'Dirge' back in '99 or whenever it was released, so I may well vote for that. I also remember 'Hocus Pocus'. It's the odd one, isn't it? Might involve yodelling or somethign equally daft.

Either way, I will listen to them all at home before I commence voting.

Not a fantastic set of songs for me in this group.. I was expecting something to happen with the first two, but it never did.

A very strong selection. I was completely unaware of DOM before listening to that song, and already I love them so much I've just sent them my kidney in case any member of the band ever decides they want a new one. THREE POINTS.

Aside from that, Hocus Pocus by Focus never, ever fails to impress, and that Death In Vegas track (horrowing promo video version, as opposed to the MTV-safe one that had the ballroom dancers in it) makes me remember MTV2 before it went rubbish. ONE and TWO points respectively there.

That Circlesquare song might be called 7 Minutes, but don't let that fool you. it actually felt like it was much, much longer.

That Circlesquare song is very boring.

Death in Vegas is nice, if meandering.

DOM is okay, not really my cuppa though.

Hocus Pocus by Focus is my little bro's favourite song evah. I really like it myself - you gotta love a prog rock song with a flute solo and yodelling.

So, Focus gets the three, DiV gets a two and DOM gets a one by default.

Circlesquare - Is this going to be emo and depressing? Okay, we're two minutes in - is anything going to happen? Um, no. This is like being stuck in a lift with Syd Little.
Death in Vegas - La la la. Not bad, I suppose.
DOM - Hurrah! Something bouncy and upbeat (at least, it is compared to the last two.)
Focus - Oh. Prog rock. Great. Erm... what the fuck just happened. Is he... yodelling? Oh my. Oh MY. I can think of no words to describe this song. It's like... it's like finding a portal to another dimension in your armpit.
The Wurzels - Okay, this one really is crap.

Well, there's no contest - Focus get the 3 points, if only for making me genuinely howl with laughter. DOM can have 2 and Death in Vegas can have 1. The Wurzles can cover that Circlesquare track and vice versa.

Circlesquare - I can see why some people don't like it, but I find it kind of hypnotic.

Death in Vegas - Big tune from my youth. Again, much like the one above, it's got a relentless monotone nature to it, but again I kinda like that sometimes. It can be done very badly, but this nails it in my opinion.

DOM - This is cheery enough. It's got a similar vibe to some of the Go Team stuff, but a little more electronica as opposed to sample based. Possibly. I dunno, it's nice enough.

Focus - Ah, this old chestnut. Prog-nonsense, but it's catchy, weird, and amuses me. Goes on a bit, though.

Wurzels - oh dear.

DiV - Focus - Circlesquare

Top marks to DOM, really liked that. Two to Circlesquare and 1 to death in Vegas. Good few songs there.

Circlesquare - The vocals remind me of The Beta Band. The song is just boring, though.

Death in Vegas - Repetitive, but nice enough. 2 points.

DOM - I quite like this song. Not much good stuff in this group, so this gets 3 points.

Focus - I don't like this. Sounds like a prog rock novelty song.

The Wurzels - Terrible, but one of the better songs in this round(!). 1 point.
