You can say many things about All Saints, but one thing's for sure - that cover version is far, far better than the original.

I loved the album 'By the way' it was great! 'Can't stop' is my all time favourite

Mr.Chris- so are a lot of songs though nowadays. Look at Scabby Lily Allen-uggggh. And that depressing Katie Melon-head and that other girl...I can't remember her name, they all sound the same though

One very good album, and the occasional good song off the next 2, then the same song again and again.

Same applies to Foofighters.

Alright guitar riff: Check
Lyrics that at speed sound like "hedihbeh hedibeh ebleb blaw blaw": Check

Congrats, you have a RHCP song

This does not bother me.

As long as I like it, why should I care what other people think?

Nope, I love them. My favouritest band ever. Seen them loads of times! Always great on stage, not obsessed with how rich/famous they are and constantly churn out brilliance! They don't release album after album of the same shit, they wait for ages and compile great stuff.\

Malc- I'm with you there!

Absolutely spot on. There are loads of bands I like, that others think are shit, and things I don't like that people like. Doesn't bother me.

what does bother me though, is the opposite, people liking a band because it is cool to like the band, not because of their music, and I feel to some extent that RHCP are beginning to fall into this category*. Which is a shame. I blame Radio 1 wholly for this.

*see also Marilyn Manson, Foofighters, the whole Oasis/Blur battle of years gone by, etc.

Anyway, this is completely off topic, maybe a mod should edit this to the general discussion?

While that pretty much holds true, of course, Under The Bridge is one track that doesn't fit it.

And, funnily enough, it's even shitter than the regular RHCP songs. Saved only by the Saints' cover of it.

Shin - you, literally, disgust me. Linkin Park.

See, I like all those bands. and bands like Linkin Park (tho not as much as it appears Shin does), Sum41, AAF, Nickleback, Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers, Keene, Coldplay, Razorlight, The Streets, I could go on.

Now, I don't go out looking for bands, I listen to stuff on the radio, and on music TV, and on launch. I don't listen to Radio 1, 2, or anything like that. I listen to Absolute Radio, (which used to be virgin radio) and I happen to like listening to that sort of stuff.

Malc...will you marry me? I like all of those and I don't look for new bands, I just hear songs that I like and decide to listen to the album then after. Which most people do admittedly.

Damn I had a big response typed up, but lost it. Sod it.

The gist(sp?) was: I like songs from all of those bands too, but not every song by those bands. Some people can't accept any criticism of a song if it is by band X. I find this annoying. That is all I was trying to say, not that liking band X is bad. I suppose you could say I don't like band waggons!
No?

That's the theory, but I bet it isn't universal, even amongst the esteemed members of this forum. It's a bit like how you're supposed to vote for the MP in a general election, but most people vote for the party they stand for.

I have to humm sometimes when trying to explain what songs I like. Much humour ensues in shops when I ask, 'Who sang that song? Yah know the one that goes mmmm mmm mmm mmmm' because, as Ace will surely agree (^.^) I am a twat :D

Also well done Bobby, good comment and very true

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are the Phil Nevilles of music. While they are very successful and technically above-competent in what they do, they're pretty workmanlike, and I really can't understand how anyone would want a poster of them on their wall.

I'm fiercely proud of having t.A.T.u., Kylie Minogue and Girls Aloud in the top 50 artists of my Last.fm page, so any 'Peppers fans can feel free to make a suitably cutting comeback on this remark.

New album still on the way from Lena and Yulia, and it's a concept album about the rise of fascism and ethnic cleansing. They've still got it!
