Zio says: I manage fine with a 16Gb iPad as I don't have any music on there. All my music is on the iPhone. So the only thing I have on the iPad is apps, videos, books, magazines and comics. I do sometimes wish I'd plumped for a little extra capacity, but I just get into the habit of deleting the videos once I've watched them so I'm not taking up valuable space.

If you don't want to spend out on an iPad 3G, maybe consider buying a MiFi from 3? That's what I've been thinking of doing and I've tried my iPad on two of my work colleagues MiFis just fine. I gather the experience is not as nice as having a proper 3G iPad, but it is about fifty quid cheaper.

zaphod79 says: I think when e-reader thingies become more ubiquitous then magazine publishers will want to cash in. Right now probably what they mostly see is a threat rather than an opportunity, though.

Agreed , and thats because its a large change in the market and they see how 'bad' others have done when the whole system goes through this - the music and movie industry for example

Mr Dave says: Quite. My point was that you were saying that them "doing it differently" was somehow objectively good. It isn't, it's quite clearly subjectively good, to those who happen to like what they did with the game.

Variety is a good thing, but that doesn't make me want to like a game that adds (in my opinion) shitty gameplay for the sake of being 'different'.
I'm willing to forgive a lot more for it than I am, say, Activision shitting out the same game every year in time for Christmas.

I'm not saying that I like them all (I rather disliked the Mega man on XBLA, for instance) But I'm still rather glad that they exist and that other people like them.

Sleep texting.

Scott's reaction to the email from the first evil-ex, and the ex's response when finding out he didn't read it.

"I didn't know Vegans were psychic."

Mostly anything Young Neil or the Gay Roomate did or said.

The stunt doubles.

The music.

chinnyhill10 says: I've ordered a massive repeater cable.. I think that's what its called anyway.

I'll see how I get on with that but if this carries on, and things become a big problem I'll be happy to throw some more money at it.

I've always thought about proper CCTV for the house but that's definitely a last resort option.

If you go down that route, the Avermedia stuff that RF Concepts sell is aces. The in laws have one after having previously had a PC solutions. PC's crash and get upset. The Avermedia unit has been running for well over 2 years now with no intervention needed at all. If there's a powercut it just continues on its merry way as soon as power is restored:

http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/digital-recorder.htm

They have the older blue 1304 model. I'd give it 950 Bananas. Once you set it up, you can just forget about it. The remote makes it easy to watch the footage as well. The only gripe is the unit doesn't adjust for daylight saving so you need to take that into account when searching through footage.

The HD is so big you don't even need to worry about motion detection (which is just as well as there's a spider that insists on building its web over the camera every night).

Plissken says: Went to Belfast. Spent time on the Unionist Shankill Road. Then, for balance, spent time on the Nationalist Falls Road. Then went to Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Not sure whose side they are on. Described the wall between them as "a bit like the Berlin Wall", which upon reflection is wrong in just about every conceivable way.

Also, Giants Causeway and Carrick-A-Rede are total aceness.

And I've fallen in love with the West of Ireland. I've been lucky enough to go to some amazing places, and I'll put Donegal right up there with the best of them.

Mr Kissyfur says: The story is bigger than that, though. The police (allegedly) collaborated with the media to cover up crime (more or less). Which is pretty dreadful.Given that the Met are happy to kill people and cover that up/sweep it under the carpet, it's hardly surprising though.

Blucey says: oooh, all the reviews and screenshots i've seen just show the media as one long list! Although i'm more concerned about how it sees media on a NAS, rather than a directly connected, but I assume it will be a similar deal?

Hang on, what's a NAS again?

The only downsides to the WD thing is that occasionally audio sync can be a little off - I'm not sure if that's down to the actual files though (and I've not had sync issues for a while) - and the fact that .mkv movies require DTS audio (so I can't actually play them yet) .mkv telly episodes don't though (and True Blood in HD is well worth it).
